Visoka Rezijanska pot / Alta via Resiana

Print
palček plezalček25. 08. 2017 12:02:05
The path of Resian puffers/polers yesterday went from the prologue that had been weaving in my head for a long time to the epilogue. Past Planina Kot, I reached the saddle Med Baban and from there along the southern ridge of Kanin (Vrh Žlebi, Kamen, Vrh Laške Planje, Črni Vogel, Mali Kanin and Visoki Kanin), which locals surely traversed and climbed long before Kugy, Komac and Kverh. The latter set out 2 years before the end of the 19th century, and after them many until today, especially after 1981, when it got its characteristic, now quite faded triangular markers.
The often mentioned hardest part from Črni Vogel towards Mali Kanin didn't seem particularly difficult to me, although done on descent. Much more unpleasant was between Visoki Kanin and saddle Peravo, precisely on the Grasselli via ferrata section descending from Vrh Krnice towards bivouac Marussich. The path to Žrd is nice ridge strolling, while the descent wasn't accompanied by red triangular guides, but happened straight through scrub to the fairy-tale transverse path winding along the slope of Ždrinica to the best-equipped bivouac (shelter Igor Crasso) far around. Unfortunately, it no longer offers shelter from the weather since last week, when a destructive storm exposed its roof. But it's still the only bivouac I know with sink, shower and invaluable view. From the bivouac I descended only to Solbica, where 'free taxi' was waiting.
If I wanted to complete the full loop of the High Rosojan Trail, I'd have to set off from Solbica on about 8 km walk along narrow asphalt road to morning start, but that pleasure I easily leave to someone else. jezik

PS: The booklet about the trail can be bought for only 1 € in Prato di Resia. It's only in Italian.

Congratulations. For repetition though I recommend also the ridge traverse from Žrd to shelter Igor Craso. Still not clear to me today why they didn't add it to the High Resian.
Maybe because then the tour is no longer doable in one day?

Thanks everyone nasmeh

Cenc, the ridge traverse from west to Žrd is definitely planned. nasmeh I think that high trail including that ridge part would be possible in one day, for someone tackling it around summer solstice. Now, with shorter days, it would mean arriving in the valley in pitch dark for me, especially since I haven't been to mountains for a month and a half zadrega
That one in picture 20 invites to traverse too...

Dprapr, the beauties in your pics in the other thread are mljac and I haven't picked them this year. When you go to those areas where bivouacs usually have stove or even cooker, take mushrooms and announce your trip in advance, so I 'purely by chance' pass by the bivouac where mushroom 'soup' will be cooking. velik nasmeh

I have another question... Does anyone perhaps know anything about the path once marked with no. 633, which led from Pezzeita to the Buje saddle?

Congratulations on the tour!

So you were on Mali and Visoki Kanin between 10.30 and 11.00, when we two were ascending towards the summit?

@palček plezalček

CAI no longer maintains path 633 and has removed it from path descriptions:

http://www.cai-fvg.it/sentieri-cai-fvg/settore-6-alpi-giulie/

In 2012 they walked there and below over the collapsed part there was a fixed rope, above all overgrown. If you know Italian, you can perhaps post a question on this link if anyone has been there recently:

Good luck!

26.8. D station - Visoki Kanin - Vrh Laške planje - Dom Petra Skalarja - D station.
11 km, 7h, 1000m ascent.

Walked part of the High Resian path from Visoki Kanin to Vrh Laške planje. The idea came on Tuesday when I went along the ridge from bivak Marussich to Visoki Kanin (ferata Rosalba Grasselli). The ridge from Visoki Kanin to the plateau is scenic, it's exposed scrambling, need to watch every step. Many path descriptions exaggerate the difficulty, so I tackled it with some nerves. Totally unnecessary. If you follow the triangles (faded but visible) and there's no fog, this path is not much harder than the path over Vrh Krnice. Of course, note that it's considered a grade 2 alpine ascent, high exposure, lots of climbing - only for experienced. I definitely recommend it in this direction, not the other way, as otherwise the part at Črni Vogl you do downhill (it works too). Psychologically the hardest part was crossing the Kanin slopes, as Dom Petra Skalarja seemed almost always right under your nose, but it's a big deception, as the path drags across these slopes up, down, around for 3 long hours. Otherwise it's reasonably marked, thanks to the path markers.
As Andrej Mašera wrote in the book Zavarovane planinske poti, Slovenian mountaineers rarely venture onto the High Resian Path. It's demanding and remote, but offers plenty to the experienced mountaineer.

26.8. I also walked part of this path (B station-Vrh Laške Planje-Visoki Kanin-Dom Petra Skalarja). Unfortunately I apparently collected too little info on the path beforehand (or misunderstood it zadrega , at that time I hadn't found this page yet) and the ridge between Črni Vogl and Mali Kanin was "a bit more fun" velik nasmeh . So I tackled it without mental preparation...
It went ok, but not the easiest, mainly due to crumbly rock. There's only one really hard spot and in this direction you climb it down - but here I didn't dare descend the marked path, it looked more like a 40 cm wide scree, roll 300m one side, 1000m the other eek (obviously the mountain was different here at marking time). Opposite direction would probably work. I bypassed this spot on the Resian side - also climbing, but at least the rock is OK.
From Vrh Laške Planje to Visoki Kanin I needed almost 2.5 hours, expected a third of that nasmeh

Question...
I want to do the traverse Visoki Kanin - Laška Planja.
Does the window of good seven hours offered by Kanin cable car operators suffice for an average-paced hiker? Or does the tour need to be planned starting from station B?

Station B, or even better below Planina Gozdec. Start hiking before 6 o'clock.

There, below Planina Gozdec, it says 3 and a half hours. But it depends on the individual. We went last year and it took us to Vrh Laške Planje 5 hours and 20 minutes. Probably a runner overtook us who took half the time. Although we wondered if he was really at the top. Otherwise, he described the last part of the path exactly to us. Anyway, if you go, go on a day when the weather will be clear. Because of the screes that are along the path. And lightning, of course. The last part to the summit of Laške Planje is quite demanding. For Visoki Kanin from there, I don't know how it looks. It's certainly not a short tour.
