Velika Planina today "second time". For conditions there's nothing else to write, but ideal: snow par excellence, a little hoarfrost, lots of needle ice, no cows and surprisingly, very few people.

Thanks @lijaneja! Is this today's picture? I'm looking at @iztoka's picture and it seems there's much less snow on it.

The photo is from March 21st this year. I think there's not much old snow left except in gullies and sinkholes, but since last Sunday there might be some that's a bit annoying.

Today a bit more easygoing on Velika Planina. From Ušivec to Planina Dol, over Konjščica to Zeleni rob, then to Markot at Jarški dom for sausage in the pan, back to start. Great weather, sunny and warm... perfect.

Today again on Velika, this time via the Rigelj path.
It's a nice but little visited path. True, no one has maintained it for years, but it's quite traceable. It gets a bit lost only on the forest clearing at about 1200m. Hunters nailed nice signs to trees there years ago, but vandals have almost destroyed them all. Path starts right before the inn at Kraljev hrib at 600m, end is 800m higher, a bit above Šimnovec. The path is in shade for a long time in the morning and welcome in hot summer months.

Here we turn from the road to a trail which is fairly wide at first

In April and May all forest floors are literally covered with wild garlic

Beautiful views are offered. From Kalska gora and Kočna, to white Koroška Rinka, Kaptan and Brana

The path climbs steeply in sharp serpentines

Who would think that Velika planina has such steep walls

Personal hunting sign in the upper part of the path

And here we are already right at the top of the path across Rigelj. Trunks serve as a fence for grazing livestock

Step over the fence and we are almost level. Left down towards Šimnovec, right up towards Zeleni rob

Today I missed the sun on Velika Planina to light up the motifs and of course the panorama of Kamnik-Savinja Alps. But I came to smell the gentians and there are plenty, as well as other flowers. Path from Rak is slippery in the forest, on the plateau itself no walking problems. Shepherds have already brought the livestock and dairy lovers will be happy. Bon appetit and best regards nasmeh

To smell the blueberries, I came to the pasture.

View towards Krvavec, or rather towards the clouds.

The chapel is visible, for more come another time.

The right combination, taking pictures is fun.

Mountain flower on the pasture, only peaks in gray.

The chapel invites, but the time for mass is not right.

Today again one of the blooming days on Velika Planina, which won't be forgotten quickly. Whoever enjoys mountain flowers, should head to the Planina, won't regret it.
