I too yesterday quickly went up to Uršlja Gora from Sleme. It's very slippery, especially on descent. So those not so "stable" just take hiking crampons, lp.

Finally I decided to write something myself too, as I regularly read your comments which are very welcome. So on Monday I went again (brother first time) to Uršlja Gora from Sleme. At the top a bit after nine. Weather clear, moderately windy and views - magnificent and hut open (until 3.1.2010 open non-stop). Not much snow, but careful on return as path quite slippery. Safe in mountains, lp.

Yes, we really met . We found the winter path and it's very suitable for descent in winter time. LP.

There was significantly less snow, but plenty of ice. Crampons were a smart addition in the last part of the path. It was a great ascent for the first day of the year.

Has anyone been around here after the last snow?? I'm interested in approaches to Plešivec? - from Slemena - from Poštarski dom before the holidays everything was icy, is it better now?? Lp

Today my son and I circled Plešivec from Slemena. Son tested new gear, I tested myself... (didn't buy anything at the sale) The path is trampled and the entire route "marked with yellow signs", so you can't miss it despite the fog. At the top fog and -9 degrees, visibility cca. 50 meters. Hut full, so they waited at the outdoor table. despite that, nice morning!! Lp

Although the weather forecasters said otherwise about the weather, the conditions didn't offer views into the valley and there was no sunshine either, but the nature on the path from Poštarski dom to the top was a fairytale itself.

Today with companion we headed from Naravske Ledine to Uršlja gora, me on skis him on foot. Path nicely trodden, weather wonderful, snow max. 40 cm. Took 2 hours for ascent. Descent (me skis, companion shovel) much less of course.

17.1.2010, Sunday, sun greeted us at top and Tina Maze silver medal .. as both my predecessors say, path is fairytale and nicely trodden. Started from Ivarčkega jezero and descended past hut at Naravske ledine down ski slope back to car.

The path to the top from Ledin is well marked and undemanding. The road to the starting point is maintained, plowed and gritted. At the top though, what to say - LOOK! Really beautiful Sunday trip.

Maybe someone knows when the night hike to Uršlja is? Did I maybe already miss it? Thanks for the answer!

I think it's around Prešeren Day. Otherwise, best to call the mountain hut on Uršlja Gora.

Today I was on Uršlja like many other hikers too. We went from Naravskih Ledin - road is plowed, from ski hut it's a bit narrower so cars can't pass each other. Path is marked and was soft today due to new snow (not much - about 10 cm). Super sunny day in the fresh air! Best, Martin

What's the current condition on Uršlja Gora? Is the ascent from Naravske Ledine practically undemanding?

Today's Sunday really invited to nature, in the morning I decided to go to eastern Karavanke, specifically to Uršlja Gora (1699 m). I left the iron horse this time above Križan, as I came from Slovenj Gradec direction (Podgorje, Razbor). From there to the top is 50 min moderate walk, I stepped a bit faster and was on top in good half hour, on top cold wind was blowing otherwise nice sunny weather, view excellent, a bit more foggy only towards Peca and Austria.
