This year I've visited the hut on Uršlja gora around 50+ times and always some silence and sadness in the hut. When will mountaineering club PD Prevalje finally "get it" that changes are needed in the club itself (at the top) and consequently at the hut too. Such caretakers as they had in 2012, 2013 and 2014 are very few and need to be searched with a magnifying glass. I hope next year will be better.

Mlah018 could you please tell me where this window or cave is located. From Slemen past the cross I've gone many times when I lived in Velenje, otherwise along the north side from Kotelj in Carinthia. Been to the summit more than 10x so far, but this window or cave are unknown to me. Please tell us users of this profile exactly where it is:
- or in the north wall;
- or on the eastern SG side;
- or on the west side;
- or south side? On the south I think definitely not since there are no rocks or mighty walls from Slemen...
If not, I'll have to go search for it myself Thanks in advance for the INFO!!!

This cave is not located on Uršlja Gora, but on the path from Slemen towards Križan. When going along the road from Ciganija to Križan you reach after 15 min. a meadow with a cabin, there you continue on the road (descending) about 200m and on the right side above the road (50 m) this cave is located.
From the road it's harder to see because it's among spruces.

UROS1, you can't miss it. Ciganija is the meadow on the path from Slemena. On the left is a meadow, on the right forest. At the end of Ciganija you can also go to Javorje. Then you come to the next meadow which acts more like a jasa and there is a possible path right towards Žerjava. You descend left downhill on the poor road and among rocks is the window. If you miss it, at the bottom of this road is a cross on the right side. If you miss it, try to find it from the opposite side. Križan-cross-right uphill and somewhere on 1/2 path to the clearing left hole (must look well) it is a bit away from the road.

NIGHT HIKE TO URŠLJA GORA
We started the hike in Črna, Žerjav, Jazbina and past Ledine where the Moon "joined" us, reached the top. At the top temperature dropped below zero, wind was blowing too so it was quite cold. Descended towards Križan. Continued the path to Sleme. Saw witches' ride in the sky .

My thinking:
For the caretaker who can spend holidays peacefully at home, probably this isn't "cretinism and idiocy"!
And we probably don't go up there just because of the inn...

Shame that the hut is regressing. Location is super.
If there was at least a winter room to change clothes in the shelter...
How is it with the ice on the path?
PS: Former caretakers from Uršlja gora were this season at the Hut on Kremžarica. Their level is only to be PRAISED.
From 20.12.2015 to 4.1.2016 the hut is open continuously.
