Traverse of the Mojstrovke to Travnik

The ledge over the precipice is the usual passage in this part of the ridge. Probably those who want to stick completely to the ridge abseil.

Hi!

The traverse of the ridge tempts me too at least to Zadnja Mojstrovka...
From what I read available info and descriptions, it seems to me that the path to Zadnja Mojstrovka is not so demanding as further to Travnik?
How much time would it take for Vršič - Grebenec - Mala Mojstrovka - Zadnja Mojstrovka at moderate pace and stops at peaks? Are 3 hours enough? Is the path onward from Mala Mojstrovka marked?
Is there any particularly dangerous section on this path?

What about the path continuing to Travnik compared to this between Mojstrovkas?

Thanks for answers and cheers!

On Wednesday I went Hanz's to MM then along the ridge ahead to the edge of Velika Dnina. Original plan was whole ridge to Šit, but since fog hung there all day, I decided to spice up the tour differently, namely instead of marked path under Velika Dnina, back along trail directly under mighty Mojstrovke ridge. Best on this path is there is none, or very hard to spot. velik nasmeh Every now and then some cairn... that's all. Rocks huge, from gigantic to tiniest. Some climbing too, but nothing special demanding. "Path" wild and cut off from world. Animals plenty (mainly chamois, though marmots, ravens, martens etc too), people none. velik nasmeh Walking various screes and rocky parts fairly tiring, but think more than worth it.

I'll return here. mežikanje
Before sunrise...1
And it is already out.2

And sunset again.4
If it is not too much, fog is great.5

Prisojnik will soon be entirely shrouded in fog.8
Jalovec too...9
But for a few moments everything could be seen to Triglav.10
This is how most of the path was.11

It got used to me.14
But it left me soon anyway.15
Well, the Mojstrovke finally appeared.16
It's really pleasant to walk here.17
Tamar once again.18
Jalovec didn't appear.19

Does this viewpoint look familiar?23
The jackdaws enjoyed the wind.24
I'll go there too.25
Yes, yes, it's a stone marten.26
Or where do you see the path?27
And already below Mala Mojstrovka.28
Prisojnik appeared only briefly.29

This tour was our goal for today, but it remained partially unfulfilled mrk pogled. We left Travnik for another time, as fog was racing along the Mojstrovke ridge all morning (as seen from the pics, it occasionally cleared nasmeh), which deterred us from the final goal.

Still a nice tour, via Hanzova to Mala and further along the ridge to Zadnja, then about 50m back and directly down the scree (super fun mežikanje), until the steepness eased, then left pathless over rocks to the southern path from Mala Mojstrovka and down to Vršič, where two "youngsters" were already waiting for us with cold beer, who'd visited Prisank and had heavenly weather all morning jezenzavijanje z očmi.

Conditions on the path excellent, not too crowded on Hanzova, from Mala to Zadnja hard to get lost with good visibility. Same for the "lower path" from scree descent to path from Mala to Vršič.

In short, nice.... nasmeh

In the morning... 1
In Hanzova2
In Hanzova3
Then mists began to gather around Jalovec 4
On Mali Mojstrovka it was again like in a studio, views 00000, behind should be Jalovec and Mangart5
On the way to Velika Mojstrovka the mists started to melt a bit at least6
On Velika Mojstrovka there was no longer such a crowd as on Mali7
Further towards Zadnja Mojstrovka... to the right of it Travnik and Jalovec in clouds8
Glimpse along the path9
We were also alone on Zadnja Mojstrovka10
During skiing from the ridge towards more gentle terrain much lower down...11
On pathless terrain towards the path Mala Mojstrovka - Vršič... behind Prisank12
At Vršič meeting with the young part of the team, who was on Prisank today13
After such a nice tour and such heat in the valley, we couldn't help but detour on the way to.... 14
... and treat ourselves to.....15

Originally we with my better half also planned to do the traverse of the Mojstrovke ridge to Travnik, but due to fogs coming from the Trentarska side over the ridge we decided not to go.
Start at Vršič, over Nad Šitom glava, ascent to top of MM and ZM, then path along Grebenc back to start.
I highly recommend the path over Nad Šitom glava, as we walked alone all the time, except in the last part where it joins Hanzova there was some crowd. The path even though unmarked is easy to follow and no problems, the summit part also offers some interesting climbing!

For the ridge path to ZM no words wasted! Gotta try it!

For the end, cooling off in Pišnica...

Kucelj, I think on my 10th pic a bit back is the same little man (though not fully visible because of us). And if that's it, then I think you were on ZM... If not, then we weren't either...zadrega

On top of Zadnja Mojstrovka there's not much space, last year there was a somewhat taller little man standing there. But between Velika Mojstrovka and Zadnja Mojstrovka there's really a wall built of rocks or whatever to call it mežikanje there is more space. Regards.

Yesterday we ascended from Vršič via the southern path to Mala, then along the ridge to Velika and Zadnja Mojstrovka. We descended by turning down to the scree in the notch before Zadnja Mojstrovka and keeping direction towards the saddle below Suh vrh. From there onwards among big boulders there are individual cairns, later we come across an easy-to-follow pathlet, which joins the southern path a bit above Grebenc.
The ridge path is really nice, scenic, at some spots need to use hands too. As robi14 says, "gotta try it."

I think you two were still missing some to Travnik. I did that this year from Vršič via Hanzova, over all three Mojstrovkes to where you saw. Descent same way. See current conditions, Mala Mojstrovka Hanzova side 3.

I also wandered up there on Saturday. The first part is really a nice ridge traverse, after Travnik it becomes much more demanding. The edge of Velika Dnine is hard to pass, so I avoided it a bit lower on the south side. The ridge is longer than it looks at the start, as it undulates here and there. Before Šite I descended left into the rubble gully, from there an initially narrow pathlet (in the lower part marked with yellow dots) leads to the marked path towards Jalovška škrbina. Return via southern path, in the shade of trees, was real relaxation nasmeh. Otherwise super tour, far from crowds and Vršič noise.

I also went with a colleague on Saturday via Hanzova to Mojstrovka. Beautiful tour. If that young couple is reading this, who helped us put on the safety belts, thank you again very much for the kindness and I wish you many more such climbing paths. M.

@tinky... I think you're mistaken about the last one, from there on there's still quite a bit to the last one, hope someone who traversed all to the last one chimes in
