pavacicm, I didn't say one shouldn't go, anyone can go, of course snow makes a selection which isn't bad either,
Kriška, I didn't mix up anything, it rained heavily up to a certain height, "girls" also make nice weather, what beautiful days ahead. lp

Pavacicm I fully agree with you this Mr Triglavski is in a class of his own, besides other hills I visit during the year at the end of summer season I head to Triglav to put that final dot on the i, I hope for nice weather Friday or Saturday, no worries about snow, it snowed in August too, then we went to Mangart there was a shoe full of new snow, all reached the top as there were a bus full, as you know slowly and carefully. So Antik don't hesitate just head out, bravo you're going from Vrata, if snow worries you go from Krma or Pokljuka, you'll see how it is with snow, to Planika no big problems, there you'll see conditions further on. Good luck.

Hello, I'm wondering if the road to Aljažev dom is passable, because apparently some landslide went off yesterday. Thanks

Does anyone know if the road to "lese" in Krma is normally passable after the last storm?

Yes I saw that, thanks. Has anyone gone over Plemenice, is there any snow, I'm going tomorrow actually and I'm interested, because weather will be great tomorrow.

Nice pictures Medo. With Johan we were on Triglav 02.09.2009, it was nice too. We started first day at Blato to Kredarica, then second to Triglav and descent over Triglavska škrbina via Dolič and Hribarice to Sedmeri. Third day then Štapce to Blato. Unforgettable and nice.

I went last week on Monday, need to cross one small snow patch, no problem.

How it is this week, I don't know, apparently there were snowfalls this weekend around here.

On Sunday 06.09 from Aljažev dom to Kredarica via Tominšekova pot. Monday 07.09 to Triglav and return via Prag.
Kredarica has no water. jezen Weather cool and windy in the morning when I went to the top. Ascent to Triglav; first part quite icy, rest without problems. Caution on that icy part, especially descending.

This weekend, 12th and 13th Sept, anyone going to Triglav? Weather worries me a bit.. we plan Friday over Komarča to Sedmeri, Saturday to Planika and Sunday to Triglav then to Rudno polje. Classic, basically. Any optimist here? nasmeh

@amorphos;

Kredarica has water. 3€ per bottle. If you mean tap water, unfortunately it's not drinkable. Otherwise, where would we end up if every mountaineer from Kredarica (or glacier) took a liter of water, Triglav glacier would be history long ago.

Cheers, we only went to Triglav. Sunday 06.09 from Aljažev dom to Kredarica via Tominšek route, same day my father-in-law and I reached summit around 17h. Friend Amorphos went to summit next day morning. Monday 07.09 return via Prag.
At Kredarica quite cold at night to sleep even covered with 2 blankets. Ascent to Mali Triglav quite tricky; icy...Gotta be very careful. All in all first time on Triglav and great, sea visible from top. Lucky clear weather...soon posting pics...busy now no time..

When I was on Triglav this Sunday the view was beautiful...and it is always very interesting to me to learn what I see around me, which river, valley, peak, mountain...though I know the Kamnik-Savinja Alps better and when there on a peak I usually know well what all I see around me. But now on Triglav, since I do not know the Julian Alps so well, I asked some people if they know which peak is ahead..I can say that many I asked knew nothing...so I am curious what is seen on this pic I think turned out pretty good...on the left I think it is Mangart...and what is this peak on the right?
sunset, Sunday, photo from Kredarica.. Mangart on the right... right?... which is this peak on the right?1

aljoša19. 09. 2009 21:42:53
The peak on the right is Razor, below it the Bovški Gamsovec is visible, left of it the Pihavec (below Mangart). In the middle between the Pihavec and B. Gamsovec is the Planja (left of Razor).

miha171, we are a bit pessimistic about this weekend... forecasts are not too promising - though almost every site predicts different weatherzmeden! we planned up Tominšek down via Prag, but we will probably postpone to next time...mrk pogled
