Today peacefully and quietly over Tirske Furnaces. Path passable with some gymnastics. Except at three spots slightly frayed cables in the gully, protections ok. Brambles hindered steps.

Let me add a thought...

Nice path and thought, Zoran! This wire bothered me months ago too, so I still have a nice double mark on my left shin, which is healing slowly. Moment of clumsiness, of course. What happens to an animal, better not think about it. lp

Nice autumn day lured me to Golte yesterday. Yesterday with kids to the hut and back, today solo over Tirske Furnaces intending to fix the torn cable a bit so there would be no more wire pricks. Amateurishly, but I succeeded and it will hold for a while. I trimmed the barbs and taped the cable, wrapped it with good old electrical tape. The gully cable is fully functional and now there's no need to worry that the wire will injure a finger, hand, leg or tear clothes. I hope I didn't miss any. Below the cliffs there are quite a few freshly fallen branches and downed trees. Some larger branches hinder passage to the vertical, but it's doable. Higher up also some gymnastics needed. nasmeh

Tirske Furnaces 23.3.2022:
A neighbor once told me when we met on Golte that she really wanted to go over Tirske Furnaces.
We arranged it. Since we had never hiked together before, I first tested her abilities a bit. Soon it was clear to me that she too was a bit lively like chamois, as someone once wrote about one of our hikes. Whatever I suggested she look at, she was enthusiastic about everything. At the end, I was already running out of energy, we had circled so much. I stayed quiet about some sights, because otherwise she would have wanted to see all of them. mežikanje

We had a nice time. After a very long time, I was back in Votnica and near its window. Access to Votnica was quite demanding via the dry and very steep grasses of Travnatnica and upper logging area. To the window even more so because of fallen trees.
We saw eagles, not just one but two. I got goosebumps looking at that mighty raptor. This was the third eagle I saw on Golte.
We also saw the first blooming primrose, which due to drought looked more like a trumpet gentian.
Chamois let us see them too, not to mention the beautiful views.

Tirske Peči 06. and 26.04.2023:
Cowslips are inviting also in Tirske Peči. They will be the nicest in the next few days, as they have been well watered.
The path from Bela Peč to the NOB monument is very muddy when wet. The ruts along the path were widened by dragging timber.
Careful in the gully to Lopna Peč too. Fallen trees hinder the ascent. Rockfall risk is high. So carefully or around to the left. Safety over Gamsji Vrt all ok. Regards and safe step from under beautiful Golte, Janez nasmeh

Tirske Peči 18.11.2023:
Among options where to go today on Golte with Vinko we choose Tirske Peči.
Park under Bela Peč. Passing Tinček's basin we see no water flowing. We take time and fix it nicely.
Muddy rut to Malinski Vrh luckily just frozen enough for nice walking. Otherwise eek

At Malinski Vrh we turn right up to Travnatnica. There we check cave Votnica and window above. Steep grass up there, legs hurt. Vinko excited by sights.
More relaxed then on descent along Travnatnica edge down to Cmonk. Wonderful view on this edge, eastern start of Tirske Peči walls, didn't disappoint.
Walking under Tirske walls especially nice in autumn, no leaves on beeches, walls in full grandeur.
Below gully to Lopna Peč I directed bitch Athena up the next left gully. She got it right away. Gully scoured by storms, never so clean. Climbing it was a pleasure. At staples we cleared material so staples not iced up in frost right away. Safety all ok. Athena waited happy up top.
Of course we stopped at Lopna Peč, signed the book, enjoyed the sun.
Continued on secured path to Zadnja Planina. Chamois surprise us at saddle, some down some up. We managed that section fine.
From Konjski Vrh down to Vodna Loka then south side of Medvedjak and over Bela Peč back to car. Quite a few chamois there, not to mention the views.
Nice after long time to enjoy these beautiful paths again.

I don't know if I can still speak of my own sanity, as I often get caught in the abyss of the opposite. How often we reconsider, don't do something, but other times rush headlong like possessed. Sensible or not, in photos, memories, words, thoughts and heart. No matter! I humbly bow to fragility and transience. Old skin is peeling from me like plaster from an old house.

18.9.2024 Tirske Peči
After a few years with colleagues across Tirske Peči. What's new? It was wet, slippery, windy, foggy at times, and yet beautiful.
Vertical quite wet. Water was running over the staples and we hurried across. Gully washed out by numerous rains. At the viewpoint, initials carved into an upright beech and "important date"? Road from Three Fences to Old Stands partly repaired and rocks removed from pastures. Hotel ones had previously widened it to pasture meadows. Snow-white eggs still unfinished spoil the surroundings. New hut no guests, at least during the time we were there having a drink. Friendly and pleasant staff smelled of jota.
Descent to starting point along ridges under Alpine Garden.
Golte never disappoint!
