Hi!

I'm wondering if the path Auronzo-Lavaredo-Locatelli-Auronzo is already snow-free in the second half of June, or at least mostly dry?
Does anyone have experience with the ascent of Mt. Paterno at that time (possible snowfields) via Ferrata De Luca-Innerkofler or the south ridge?

I was there in June 2008 (around 25 June - holiday with weekend). No snow. I mean the circular path around the Tre Cime, don't know about ferratas above.

I agree with the previous post regarding the circular path around the Three Peaks. Definitely it will be a completely different story on the north side, the so-called ferrata Innerkofler is mostly in shade and we even found snow there in August, I think 2009. Access from Lavaredo hut via Forcella Passaporto and then towards the summit is all facing south and it could already be dry even after such a snowy winter as this one. But all this is just guessing and it's always best to turn back if you don't master the situation. Good luck

On Saturday with hikers from Železniki in Dolomites.
One group went on path around the Cimes, others climbed Monte Paterno, another peak nearby, then ferrata on Torre di Toblin. All together already a bit kitschy.velik nasmehvelik nasmeh

Nice photos tempting again...
Interested in early access - around 5am past barriers. Maybe someone knows if open at night or when toll collection starts. Want to avoid crowds and approach Torre di Toblin and Monte Paterno in peace.

Since Saturday morning road closed due to overnight storm, had to walk. Reached Auronzo hut in an hour and a quarter not fast walk.

Monte Paterno 2744 m. Wednesday 15.8.2018. Second day had gorgeous weather. Couldn't wish for better. Offer in hut where we slept excellent. None of us had complaints, large group 26.

Last week dad and I climbed Monte Paterno. First day amid strong thunder we drove through numerous storms to hut Auronzo where we slept. Next day to hut Locatelli and via ferrata De Luca-Innerkofler to summit. Descended direct route met by crowds. Weather nice morning then clouded. Unforgettable end of summer feat.nasmeh
