Jusk, have you ever seen a boletus continue growing after you saw it? Especially if someone circled around it and picked those big boletes. Boletus grows suddenly, then starts decaying, they say. nasmeh

Yesterday on a walk past the quarry at Merci, then along the tracks and descent towards Ukova. From the quarry onwards very overgrown. Path to 7grabnom also overgrown, so I'll check that direction another time nasmeh

Unveiling of new memorial plaque to Jakob Žumr on 130th anniversary of Vintgar Gorge opening
Yesterday, 16.11.2022, was an extraordinary day for Gorje Tourist Association, as it was recorded among the most important events of the operation of TD Gorje.

President of the RS Mr. Borut Pahor also visited the gorge, where at a short ceremony, together with the president of the Gorje Tourist Association, Janez Poklukar, he unveiled the new memorial plaque to the "first builder of the gorge", Jakob Žumr, who together with like-minded people was largely responsible for the gorge being ceremonially opened for visiting for the first time on 26 August 1893.

On that occasion, President Pahor also addressed those gathered: "I am completely captivated by the beauty of this place and your care for it". /TD GORJE/

Hello..
The little bridges over Ukova stream….
We visitors of Kalvarija, the chapel and hikers to Jelenkamen have been waiting and waiting for something to move. But nothing. Since spring the planks on the bridges have been tilted, railing broken. Every rainfall worsened the condition. The mischief of youths didn't spare them either. End of August someone sawed them off for passage safety. Then walking on stones started. In rain the stream rises and stones are slippery. We're not all of tender age anymore, but there are many visitors to Kalvarija and beyond. You're arranging new hiking paths, which is praiseworthy. These two poor little bridges that would ease our water crossing no one arranges. The path along the piers is now difficult, no passage from Jesenice side. We're waiting for someone to break or something worse, then solution will be found quickly. Rain is coming, water will rise and cover the stones too. I think it's high time to change this and with joint forces make the stream crossing safe.
