Asphalt laying on regional road near emerging Partizan neighborhood 🚧
Construction of Partizan residential neighborhood in Jesenice is on schedule. On Thursday and Friday, June 19 and 20, the contractor (Gorenjska gradbena družba) will resurface part of the regional road with rough asphalt. The road will then be passable again in both directions. 👷♂️
Ground floor of the semi-detached houses is already under construction, structure should be completed by end of September. After summer, final road arrangement follows.

In Jesenice municipality 13 drinking fountains –
In 2023 and 2025, Jesenice Municipality installed eight new drinking fountains at the initiative of locals, who voted for them via participatory budget. The total investment value was 44,300 euros. Now there are 13 fountains available in the municipality, enabling easier access to fresh drinking water and pleasant refreshment – especially on hot summer days.
Fountains are placed at frequently visited and suitable spots – at bus stops, opposite the main railway station, in squares, near children's playgrounds and recreational areas. Passers-by, families and recreationists can use them.
Available from early spring to late autumn. In winter, due to low temperatures, they don't operate, as it could damage the water system.

📣 Information about the reintroduction of paid parking at the parking lot near the cemetery in Blejska Dobrava
We inform you that from August 1, 2025, paid parking will be reintroduced at the parking lot near the cemetery in Blejska Dobrava – the same as it was between 2021 and 2023.
📌 Parking rates:
🚗 For passenger vehicles (cemetery visitors):
– first 90 minutes free,
– after 90 minutes: 5 € (flat rate until 20:00).
🚌 For buses:
– up to 4 hours: 20 €,
– After 4 hours until 20:00: 30 € (flat rate).
ℹ️ Details on the parking regime will be indicated on the signage at the parking lot.

Things are happening - Jesenice municipality
Construction of new Julka Pibernik kindergarten progressing
Jesenice Municipality is building a modern kindergarten that will provide children with pleasant and functional spaces, and employees with better working conditions.
Builders started work in the first half of July by excavating the foundation pit. The old kindergarten was demolished last year. Currently, they are laying foundations and the load-bearing structure.
📅 Construction expected to finish in March 2026.

INVITATION TO CEREMONY: 100 years of organized amateur photography in Jesenice
Dear!
This year marks 100 years since amateur photographers in Jesenice established the first photo section at the Skala Tourist Club. This laid the foundations for the development of photography in Jesenice. Over the decades, Jesenice photographers have honed their skills, created, captured moments, light and shadows. Thus they shaped not only the artistic image of Jesenice, but also its cultural identity.
Today, this rich tradition of friendship, learning, exchange of ideas and inspiration among Jesenice photographic creators is successfully continued by the Jesenice Photography Society, which unites members not only from Jesenice, but also from other Slovenian regions and abroad.
We joyfully invite you to join us in celebrating the honorable 100th anniversary of the start of amateur photography in Jesenice. The main ceremony will take place on Friday, September 12, at 19:30 in Tone Čufar Theater.
We will be happy to celebrate a century of creating with light in Jesenice together with you.

New noise barrier fence at Blejska Dobrava cemetery
Jesenice Municipality has completed the project of installing a noise barrier fence along the morgue at Blejska Dobrava cemetery, ensuring a quieter and more private environment for visitors.
The new fence reduces the impact of noise and views from passing tourists and walkers, whose path to Vintgar Gorge often leads past the cemetery.
The total project value is 51,229.63 euros incl. VAT. Triglav National Park contributed 27,986.90 euros under the ANPLS 2025 project, the remaining 23,242.73 euros provided by Jesenice Municipality.
With the project, Jesenice Municipality has ensured that Blejska Dobrava cemetery will remain a tidy and suitable place for quiet farewells and family visits in the future.

Closure of the state road on the section Slovenski Javornik – Gorje
Representatives of the Gorenjska construction company informed the Jesenice municipality about the renovation of the state road on the section Slovenski Javornik – Gorje. As part of the works, they will resurface the roadway.
Due to the implementation of the works, a partial traffic-light closure will be set up on Saturday, October 18, 2025, and a full road closure on Sunday, October 19, 2025.
The exact location of the closure is shown in the attachment below.

Čufar Days...
Jesenice will be a great theater city again..
This year's 38th Čufar Days in Jesenice from November 14 to 19 will be marked by a diverse program of theater performances along with three important anniversaries.
120 years have passed since the birth of poet, writer and playwright Tone Čufar. A respectful memory of him is kept in Jesenice in November with a festival of amateur theaters, which over the decades has outgrown the borders of the municipality and Gorenjska and established itself across the homeland. The local theater, which proudly bears his name, dedicates its 405th premiere to him as an introduction to the Čufar Days. Under the direction of director Rok Sanda, they will perform the drama titled Pioneer of the New World on Friday, November 14, at 19:30. At the press conference, the author of the text and director presented the execution of the extensive project that will shed light on his creative work and life in those difficult times. / Jesenice News/

Improved path and new stairs on Hrušica
The Municipality of Jesenice has successfully completed two more projects in the area of the Hrušica local community as part of the 2025 participatory budget. The total value of both participatory budget proposals was 20,000 euros.
1. Replacement of stairs between blocks 71/c and 71/d
Based on the voted initiative, the municipality arranged two new staircases with railings, specifically on the path running between buildings 71/c and 71/d towards the regional road. The new arrangement replaces worn-out and dangerous stairs made of railway sleepers and provides a safer and more comfortable pedestrian connection.
2. Arrangement of the event center on Hrušica
As part of the proposal, a gravel path was improved. The contractor built about 40 meters of concrete path with stairs and railing connecting the area from Hrušica 57 towards 55/a. The new addition enables safer and more organized access to the kindergarten, the Hrušica Local Community building, and the event space.

Renovation of the dilapidated water main near the court starts on December 8
We inform you that the contractor will start renovating the water supply network on the section from the entrance at the Oaza restaurant to the court building. The site induction has already been completed, and construction works will commence on December 8, 2025.
During the renovation of the hot water network, expert services found that the water main on this section of the route is heavily worn and leaking, causing major water losses. Therefore, repair is necessary. There are also some trees along the water main route that unfortunately will have to be removed due to the works.
Parking in the parking lot will be partially obstructed, and access to the area will be adjusted according to the progress of the works.
After completing the water main renovation, the contractor will also arrange the parking lot at this location.
