lp I see topic about meters, wondering if anyone has similar problem. I have heart rate monitor that works on all family members. When I use it, it goes completely crazy. Works for a while then alarms go nuts. Must say no pacemaker nearby. If I give it to wife right away it works normal again! Who has solution. tik tak tik tak

serajko: maybe you have too dry skin ... did you try to moisten the electrodes?

serajko: Sometimes certain clothing can contribute to the watch showing pulse strangely... And of course dry skin as raufnk wrote... lp

What if the meter is flawless and something's wrong with the little pump

I think it would be VERY obvious if there was something wrong with the heart to that extent that the meter shows weird things and also ... stronger arrhythmia is usually felt (I know from personal experience )

lp I've already tried several things. Everything indicates it's losing skin contact. Even when I'm really sweaty it's the same. I wasn't paying attention to the t-shirt, maybe the silver thread causes it. Heart was all ok at last preventive check. I'll change t-shirt quality. Someone advised me ECG gel. Always shows as if no signal reception

Well if I ignore that it works normally on other members, the problem could be in the transmitter battery (in chest strap). Mine starts beeping when battery low. But do you have strap well tightened? Because both electrodes really need good contact. That's from my side, hope you sort it .

lp Works on others regardless if arm fully stretched, on me no, even if I press watch on strap. Can tighten it or lightly adjust, no difference.

Suunto Ambit. Check (google) how the battery is, the rest as far as I know is all super.

I think no Suunto Core has GPS and heart rate monitor. Ambit has it all, but as I read few are satisfied with battery, now don't know what that means, since almost every newer gadget you have to charge before action, almost none lasts two days with various measurements on. Ambit is still quite expensive. Polar also has some new model, supposedly very good, but don't know it, Garmin is also fine.

I have an Ambit, and GPS measurement (on second interval, there is also a minute interval) lasts around 11-12 hours (officially 15 hours, or 50 hours at minute tracking interval). Otherwise it's a really super watch for the mountains. Otherwise, charging the battery in huts is no problem, because any USB charger that modern smartphones have can be used, but unfortunately it has memory only for about 15 hours of GPS tracking, then it overwrites the first recorded points (FIFO system). So for multi-day tours without a laptop it won't work, if someone wants to record a multi-day tour precisely.

Hi. I'm interested in buying Suunto watch with altimeter. This is the only function that actually interests me (compass on watch doesn't help e.g. for azimuth, heart rate doesn't interest me). Regarding this function, which model is most recommendable (price-quality) with special attention to battery longevity? Thanks for advice and best wishes!

If only the altimeter interests you, then Altimax is the right choice. I just hope they still have it in the offer
