It's possible to turn to Begunjščica from Zelenica after returning from Stol, but I doubt you'll make it in the time frame you mention.. unless you're of very fast pace. I don't know the exact time, but just the ascent to Stol from Ljubelj is surely at least 4 hours..
If you also glanced at the map on the way mežikanje

, you could quickly imagine how the paths go.. jezik

@užitkar I think Stol will be enough for this heat and I recommend you start at 5am, the path is quite well exposed to the sun nasmeh

we two also went to Stol on Saturday from the Austrian side and since we didn't wake up early enough in the morning, we started quite late at 9:30am, the heat was really hellish, the ferrata is super especially the lower part, about the scree I won't waste words, it just wouldn't end, but nevertheless we completed the tour and were very satisfied at the end, some pics on this side http://sl.netlog.com/slavi0902/photo/setid=275140

towards home at the source of Završnica, where I quench my thirst with the sweetest water around :)

Tomorrow we planned to go up the climbing (north) route to the summit. But we're a bit doubtful due to the rain in the past days. What do you think? I know that especially steep grasses are dangerous for slipping when wet..

I think there shouldn't be any problems. There aren't any particularly tricky steep grasses there, and besides, the path runs along a kind of ridge and because of that, although it's north-facing, it's actually quite exposed to the sun. You'll probably need to be careful in places, but I wouldn't expect anything critical.

Does anyone know the condition on Stol after today's rain? Maybe already some snow somewhere? Because I'd go up for the first time in the second half of the week... Also, what's the road to Valvazorjev dom like?

After the night shower, there was about a cm of snow this morning, if it freezes, crampons will be needed (e.g., Lesce chain). Fog accompanied me the whole way, only at the top I spotted a bit of blue for a moment.

The road to Valvazorjev dom is drivable with a normal car (caution mandatory).

Bumslpepe - you were lucky today, since on Begunjščica there wasn't a single ray of sunshine - what could be seen from the fog was much better on Stol.

Today I started right in Završnica, so it'd count more, I told myself mežikanje

After a nice forest path to Valvasorjev dom and continued via Žirovnica to Stol. Before reaching the hut, the summit was already covered in fog, so no views. Next time. No wind on Stol today, just a light breeze occasionally around the hut corners.
Behind the hut I sat a bit and snacked. As I was preparing for the descent back to the valley, I spotted a white wagtail overhead. It sits right near the hut in tall dry grass. From the top I don't see it, descend a bit lower and spot it. Nice mountain bird, slowly getting completely white feathers. Take some pics and slowly retreat not to disturb it too long.
On descent met a couple of hikers, no big crowd today. Down at Završnica pastures on gravel road spotted Apollo. Slowly to nearby bushes. Probably a bit chilly, so slower.
Pretty good, could be better with some sun nasmeh

It's a male, a little more and it'll be completely white.

Already in the valley, it's nice to look back up at it like this.

At the end of the forest (via Žirovnica) today was also the end of sun, or rather only fog and some breaking rays visible. Prešernova koča was more felt than seen, due to strong wind at Stol summit managed to blow stamp pad cover to Austrian side. Tell all eager stampers to take own pads with you.
Views from previous post would be very glad for, but wide palette of forest shades lower and stop at Završnica consoled me.

With buddy yesterday morning from Medji dol via ferrata to Stol then down to Valvasor and Završnica. Austrian side sun, at around 1800m fog started, summit blew hard. Views - zero. On Prižnica sun again as befits sunny alpine side. No people - neither on one side nor the other, which suited fine. Attach few pics.
