Summer , but some small snow below the summit, and in some gully that the path crosses.

Does anyone know how much snow is still on the path to Špik (Steep Slabs)?

Hi. Yesterday I set off to check this peak and planned the tour up the left and down the classic. Up on the path to Montaž there's still quite some snow, when the path branches to Špik there's practically no snow. On the top I was quite lucky the weather held, the classic path has no peculiarities. Best Rok

Yesterday I spent a special day, finally in the mountain kingdom. I parked the car at Nevea Saddle. Then I walked along the pleasant trail no. 623 to Rifugio Brazzà. There were already quite a few visitors. I drank hot tea and asked a bit about the weather, as it was quite cloudy, opposite to the forecasts. Then I headed towards Špik Hude police and I wasn't the only one. Quite a few of us went up there today. Along the way I had constant company of ibex and there was a group on the summit too. They were all sorts, younger, older, some had already changed fur, others still in full molt....we studied each other a bit, they weren't afraid. Very used to people. They dug a lot in the ground under rocks and found who knows what.........Something they really like.......It was constantly quite cloudy. Now and then the sky opened. On the way back I went to Montaž, where I had marmot company. There were plenty, but hard to photo as they hide quickly. Colorful flowers abound too. At malga Pecol, where they sell their cottage cheese, yogurts and butter, along with local cheeses and prosciutto, cows graze and people swarm around there, but only there....elsewhere fewer visible. I returned on the asphalt road and ate my fill of forest strawberries. In short, an extremely pleasant day!

Hi, I'm interested in the drivability of the road from Sella Nevea pass to Pecol? Nice mountain greeting, Metka.

I was there last week, the road was normally drivable. I assume it's the same these days, no rain since then. Snow starts above Pecol somewhere above 2100m. Happy trails!
