The shape of the head is not well visible, I think it's Laški (black) adder.

Common adder Vipera berus, melanistic "variant", common adder can be very light brown through darker shades to completely black. Laški adder lives west of Soča.

Black adder-smooth snake they are often mixed up, I'm not a snake expert, but we have at home around the farm smooth snakes, grass snakes, during mowing also some adder/modras (those are a bit more stubborn), I don't know maybe several pieces and they are not aggressive, this adder really surprised me, I got a bit scared of it. It was just a couple of 10 cm off the marked path and at almost knee height, if I hadn't noticed it, it would surely bite me. Then I went around it a bit and filmed it with zoom.
Last year during hay harvest there was a smooth snake under the hay, and everyone at home got scared of it, it was really huge for a smooth snake!!!

I blocked its escape route several times because I wanted to photograph it from the front, but it didn't work, it always retreated too fast.....I've met adders too, but adder quickly goes into defense if you block its retreat, and pees, but this one didn't pee at all, just fled....

well, I was really glad about it, I like snakes, it likes me much less, photo model career obviously doesn't interest it

By photographing them, jumping around them you are only harming the snakes. This is their natural space, not yours. It is true that they also go near buildings where they don't belong. Humans are to blame for all this, who persecute them, limit them. Even previous comments show the low culture of people towards animals.

capraibex: What you said has already been said on this forum several times, just search a bit... Well, unfortunately those who think like that are still in the minority...zadregazavijanje z očminasmeh

Wait, why not ours then? I don't drive away other living beings anywhere, but I really don't know why people shouldn't enter nature too. Nature is for everyone, for humans just as for all others.

how can I harm it by photographing?....I didn't chase it, I didn't go closer than two meters to it, I met it on the path

You wrote "I blocked its escape route several times". The animal defends with retreat or flight. Convincing it to flee is harassment. Users speak about this; it wasn't to their liking and not to mine either. You photograph the animal as it is, once a good shot will turn out. What if it was a bear, it wouldn't even occur to you to jump around it, you'd be glad if it quickly retreated back to the forest.
Nature is certainly our space too, you just have to know how to behave in it. Nice to observe animals but mustn't stalk them and disturb them unnecessarily.

Pikica1@ Congratulations, that's the answer of a true nature lover. Unfortunately there are fewer and fewer such people. Thanks again. regards

Even if you photograph it from two meters the snake senses it (detects your walking or that something heavy and potentially threatening is approaching) and it's not pleasant for it. We can disturb them this way, more on how we can disturb other animals is in the previous issue of PV. Snakes have some senses "slightly" better developed than ours...zavijanje z očmizavijanje z očmizavijanje z očmi

You know what the snake feels. Last time I saw one at ten meters, so I went down and the next day again, so it wouldn't get scared. Today I was at Košutnikov turn, lucky there was none, otherwise I'd have to repeat the tour tomorrow.nasmeh

And what bad thing happens to the snake if... ouch... it's uncomfortable for a couple of minutes and upset? Various things upset us every day too, and we're still alive.
I don't say, if someone poked the snake with a stick and hung it on a tree for a better photo, but like this.... zavijanje z očmi
