Hi, maybe someone knows if the path through Žmavčarje is repaired and open?

Probably meant from Mali Podi? Because through Žmavčarje is unmarked nasmeh

Heard recently they opened it 1 day after blasting... not verified information.

OK, thanks to both, then that's off... I'm also interested if from bivouac under Skuta any other path leads to the top of Skuta or only the closed one?

Yes, it leads there, just nicely lengthen the path, namely in the direction of Sleme and Veliki Podi, in between you can also go to Kogel then along the marked one, from bivouac under Grintovec to Skuta.

hi,
Log.d.-Skuta via Turski žleb approx. 5 hours (depending on abilities of course), to Rinke about 2 hours, to Turska gora approx. 1 hour, to Brana approx. 1.5 hours from there to saddle less than 1 hour, then another 1.5 to 2 hours to the valley.
Total probably somewhere between 11 and 13 hours, depending mainly on you velik nasmeh

Hello,

I'm heading to Skuta via Gamsov skret and would go under Štruca to avoid the walk to the bivouac under Grintavec. Could you please tell me if I've marked correctly on the picture (black line) where I should leave the marked path. On the satellite image you can see the path in the scree under Štruca, but not the one over rocks before the scree. With blue I've marked the approximate path coming over Gamsov skret, with yellow the part of the path in the scree visible from satellite, with black I suspect where the junction would be.

Thanks for the help and have a nice day.

You can think a bit, like this on the sketch it's a bit different there in reality. Terrain is not hard, if you manage. When you reach the marked path from G. skret look up and that scree under Struca is not the right one. Correct is left of that, move a bit more left and up. Then easier terrain ahead.

NatasaPu, if you really want to include Skuta as well, better recommended ascent from Kamniška Bistrica via Gamsji skret-Skuta-Križ-Prečnje to saddle and back. Avoids unnecessary return from Skuta back towards the gully... Average 8-10h

schaf, just make sure the path is visible, otherwise you might end up in the gully that leads 50m before the junction of the path that joins the path via Dolgi Hrbet-Štruca to Skuta. Well up there it obviously works too, if 3 French guys in sneakers and no helmets with 50l backpacks made it upeekeekeek must've been lots of cursing on that thorny path I guess.velik nasmeh

The path from G. Skreta, which was asked about, is not closed. Better to say that from Zmavcarji side, Logarska dolina, the path to Skuta is not recommended, otherwise someone will look for the key at Okrešelj or in KB mežikanje

Hi, since the path from Malih podov to Skuta is closed but I still want to go past the bivouac under Skuta, I'm wondering what kind of detour that would be if I go from Malih podov to the bivouac under Grintovec and from there to Skuta? Is the path there up, down or more level? From the contours on the TTN map it looks like the path is decently routed? Thanks for the help. Regards Mirko

Hi,

@redbull and @čebejla thanks for the recommendations and help. I agree, in real life I was a bit surprised, because it really looked completely different from the map. nasmeh The first time I was up there was fog and I wouldn't have seen the štruca if I had run into it. Well, I managed to find the passage, super thing because it really shortens that snake over Velike Pode. If anyone is interested, I'm attaching a photo and mark (red), where I turned off the marked path (yellow).

Shortcut

Have a nice evening further.
