Today for the second time this year I walked the Puštalski Loop, as Vencelj 1 called it. I started at the parking lot in Puštal and in pleasant - compared to recent days ideal, though a bit windy - weather walked the route of the mini-marathon. Beautiful tour on dry terrain with excellent views of snowy Julian Alps, Karavanke and Kamnik-Savinja Alps. The loop is 21.6 km long with 1,325 m ascents.
Probably: Škofja Loka1

How many hours are needed for such a loop, for average hiking. And maybe also where to park the car, since the description says no parking at the start and best to leave the car in Škofja Loka.

I today at moderate pace walked 6 hours. Trail runners in spring needed only 1 h 45 min (best).
For the start I took Škofja Loka or rather Puštal, where by Poljanska Sora and by soccer field there is parking (in picture 1 - right).

The name Puštal Loop is not from my field guide, first time I stumbled upon it in magazine Tek plus (April/May 2013)
Puštal loop article on page 20
Mrki, nice photos!
For the loop on scouting tours we needed around 3 hours, last week solo with stop at cabin under Osolnik I needed 3.5 hours (link in initial post), yes, on race (start at Sv. Andrej and final ascent from Puštal to start) best 1:45 as Mrki wrote, my time was 2:15...
Otherwise the article from magazine is quite accurate regarding route (and parking too).
Interesting that Sv. Andrej, Sv. Ožbolt and Osolnik, which by "common logic" belong to Škofjeloško hills, the guide Škofjeloško and Cerkeljansko hills does not include but obviously "lends" to Polhograjs.

Vencelj, do you think there is still any snow on this trail now?

I think not much, maybe in some shady spots. Now it's melting fast, a couple days ago that slope under Ožbolt was still white...
On Saturday apparently a group did a recce, but I have no info.

Currently on Puštalski Loop it's really nice, all little flowers, soft trail. nasmeh Very enjoyable! I recommend. Also very suitable for hikers - ca. 7-8 hours walking. Report: https://bojanambrozic.wordpress.com/2015/03/16/pustalski-krog/

Today I walked the entire Puštalski Loop again - the fifth time - along which the Naj Naj small marathon takes place every year. I started at the parking lot by the soccer field in Puštal and went via Andrej to Sv. Ožbolt and further through Selo above Polhov Gradec to Tošč. From the highest point I returned via forest paths across Gontarska planina to Osolnik and from there back to Puštal.
The path is frozen, with little snow on northern slopes and in shady valleys. Views in all directions are excellent.

Individual points in this area - Sv. Andrej, Sv. Ožbolt, Tošč, Gontarska planina and Osolnik - I visit often, but the entire Puštalski Loop I do at least once a year. Today was the right day for the circuit, as strong wind was only at some exposed spots, otherwise calm, with warm spring sun and nice views.

It's true, everything surprised me; from numerous nice paths and friendly people to views and panoramas you don't expect at this elevation, and the "ambience" that really captivates you. I'll come againmežikanje

There was so much advertising for Puštal Loop lately that we had to check what's up. The more human wake-up time due to proximity of start also contributed a bit nasmeh.

We started in Puštal, parking near Sora. Since it was our first time, we missed some more markings at the beginning. But no special problems. We go right on local road towards bypass, just after it we cross Hrastnica stream and then stick to right road again. There is a well visible marking on the pole and there are enough further.

The path is nice nasmeh. None of us had hiked the first half before and we were nicely surprised. Just right varied, interesting and scenic, that we already booked it for next year velik nasmeh. We could almost call it pilgrimage path, as it leads from church to church. It's also demanding fitness-wise, as it added up to about 25 km and 1700 m elevation. But true, we extended it a bit on descent following St. James path signs and came out at Sv. Križ zavijanje z očmi.

Wind shaped our goals and this time we chose Puštal Loop again. For a change we did it in opposite direction than last year. Over Osolnik we climbed to Tošč, continued towards Sv. Ožbolt and descended from there to the valley. Everyone liked this variant more than the opposite direction. Conditions for walking are more than favorable and journey through Škofja Loka hillocks and valleys was real pleasure nasmeh

Puštalski Circuit has become a pretty traditional loop for us, reserved for poorer conditions in the high mountains. It's just strenuous enough and beautiful enough that we happily return. Freezing in the valley, but a bit higher it was just pleasantly comfortable for easy up, down, around. No snow (yet), no icy sections either. We could easily call Puštalski Circuit *Church to Church Path* velik nasmeh. Recommended.
