Povna Peč

I didn't find a record of conditions on Povna peči, hope I didn't miss it (except what's written under Koča na Ljubelju)... Probably not because most people stay at the hut or just pass by and go further. True, I have nothing against it not being crowded and that's why I keep coming back here.

Except for the last part under the summit rock, the path is dry. To the hut at Ljubelj it's anyway »highway«, further along the border ridge mud hides here and there under leaves. And that's just to dirty the boots. There's still enough snow left on the path under the summit rock to cover the (narrow) path and it's just icy enough to require caution (not for sneakers!).

Otherwise, due to the nice day (Sunday, I'm not exactly diligent at posting), views all around. In a good hour of sunbathing on top, you could recharge batteries for weekly obligations…

General conditions – flower upon flower… true »pasture for the soul«, if you're even a bit romantic…

For the end of the year another nice trip. On the way to Koča na Ljubelju there were many people today, further to the top no crowds, so we even enjoyed the sun and views alone on the top for a while.
End for this year, but tomorrow new beginning ... wish you many more paths hiked nasmeh

This morning I was at Povna peč. A bit below the summit, where the path goes onto the steep Austrian slopes, there's still some snow. Crossing that slope without winter gear is not safe.

Tadej, please stop ringing "povne" at eleven and please change to Povna peč. As strange as it sounds, but the name Povna means Midday and has nothing to do with full!

The spelling Ljubelj is wrong. All place names with stem lub rely on the meaning of concave gully
op.1 on page 3.
And I didn't make this up myself, but dr. Henrik Tuma-lawyer,politician,publicist,mountaineer and LINGUIST.

"sirt1" I fully believe you didn't "invent" this ... I actually know Tuma's writings quite well ... the fact is - grammatically right or wrong - that nowadays we write Ljubelj not Lubelj ... and as said before I'm typing this more for fun, no offense ... around Povna peč the sign at the hut (Celovec lawyer's) in front of the stone obelisks is completely clear lately ...
