Maybe Hut at Klopnem vrh? Last autumn I was around there and noted some data: hut tel. 02-675-45-61, address Kumen 32, GSM 041-652-930, rooms: dormitory 8 beds, 1x 4-bed room, 2x 2-bed rooms. Hut tenant is Ladinek (Ledinek?), if I remember right, closed on Mondays. But current condition I don't know. Just info, not advertising the hut. Best regards!

You have to take time for Pohorje!!
First stop in Zreče (colleague's relatives). As views drift towards Pohorje - black clouds (12:30) - it'll be fine..??
Pesek at 14:00 sun/clouds - not so bad.
After an hour of hiking, mists lower and drizzling.
Mists at head height - but not too bad yet (waterproof gear still in backpacks) - we don't use it! drizzles approx. 1h.
Mushroom hunting approx. 15m off trail and some found!!
No one encountered - alone in the middle of Pohorje forests.
At the monument (Osankarica) - "mushrooms" and first pickers.
18:00 Osankarica.
Accommodation in rooms (no one else staying except us).
Trade mushrooms for bilberries!
Dinner and museum visit.
Agreement for breakfast and to bed at 21:00 - I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!
Up at 5:30.
Scrambled eggs with ham, tea, coffee and off to Black Lake 6:45.
Šumik approx. 9:00
Picnic area fully occupied!!
Find another bench (a bit rickety) and soon they wait for us to leave (asked if we'd stay) and rejoice at negative answer.
Before Glažuta left along the road.
Friendly hiker catches up and shows us the way to False Pond and then onward (unmarked for a while).
After figuring out where we are, we say goodbye and mushroom hunt.
Last climb before Pesek gets the blood pumping and fatigue shows.
14:14 Pesek
Traffic chaos!!!
Continues to Rogla!!

Pohorje - trees, forest, babbling waters everywhere, stone, moss, mushrooms, puddles, marsh..

On a holiday I did a hike from Tinje to Tri Kralji via Black Lake to Osankarica.
To Tri Kralji the path is still quite trodden (I trampled it the day before), to Black Lake I broke trail anew through quite deep snow, as it sank to the butt in drifts sometimes. From Black Lake to Osankarica it was barely trodden. Back towards Tri Kralji I returned by road as I had enough of trampling.
Otherwise nice weather, fog up to 1000m, above clear but very cold.
The trail in winter is very nice and idyllic, and mostly trodden soon after snowfall.

For the first trip of this season after a long winter I chose Mariborska koča, Ruška koča and koča na Klopnem vrhunasmeh We drove by car from Ruše to the first two. At both huts there's only little snow left. At Mariborska koča they were very friendly and we got extra info for continuing to Ruška koča. This one reminds me quite of some inn, very nice is the church next to it. After sightseeing the area we returned to Ruše and continued to Smolnik village. There we left the car at a large parking lot and went on a very well marked and long path (4h) to koča na Klopnem vrhu. Despite fog at the start, later views were very nice. Along the way we saw many farmhouses, chapels, NOB memorial and a small church with mausoleum. 20 min before the hut there are also some nice holiday homes. On the steep path just before the hut there's still lots of snow, in places sinking to the knees. On the forest path due to melting snow there's also lots of mud. The path was despite length and some steep parts very interesting. You see many new farms that are nicely reachable on foot on asphalt road.
Recommend to all who want to see something new on a not too crowded path.
On Pohorje we had a very nice but also strenuous day and we'll return to continue on the points of Slovenian mountain trail.
Best regardsvelik nasmeh

A beautiful sunny Saturday morning dawned, with view from Areh over Maribor transmitter to the lowlands - Drava plain. In the valley fog, feeling like summer's end. In this case car stayed in garage, as such view offers my home courtyard. Best regardsvelik nasmeh

Close - yet so far, one could say.
Although I have Bistriški Vintgar practically at my doorstep I only decided today to hike it fully.
I started, of course, on foot from Tinje, headed straight along the road towards Sl. Bistrica, then around Impol to the nearby starting point. Continued through Bistriški Vintgar towards Močnik and further towards Three Kings and after a well-deserved break back down towards Tinje.
Let me also mention that vandalism really knows no bounds, as (still unknown) they set fire in the trunk of the thickest (Marolt's) fir tree. The local firefighter assured me that despite their efforts the fire can't be extinguished anymore, so they're just waiting for the tree to burn and fall by itself.jezenjezen

Unheard of! I strongly wish and hope that law enforcement finds the perpetrator(s) and punishes them accordingly. Truly, vandalism without precedent.

We concluded our two-day trip around Pohorje this afternoon.

Started yesterday (10.9.2010) at Pesek at 13:00. It was 10 degrees colder than in the valley. Continued over three nails to Osankarica (at 16:25). At the new caretakers (changed a month ago) we tried skutn and blueberry strudel.
rating 5
Then continued to Three Kings (18:30). Here they are building and renovating extensively. Spent a pleasant evening and upgraded it culinarily (and oenologically).
We ate Pohorje stew and blueberry strudel
also here rating 5 for food and staff friendliness.
After breakfast we headed towards (8:30) Šumik and Klopni vrh (11:45 Klopni vrh) and again finished at Pesek at 14:45.
Cloudy yesterday and sun today.
On the path yesterday we met only two hikers.
Today near the huts some mushroom pickers with modest harvest.

As almost every Sunday, today morning I also headed towards Three Kings, and further towards Black Lake and Osankarica. There's not much snow lower down, but towards the top of Pohorje the snow cover already thickens to about 15-20 cm. Snow doesn't pose a major problem for walking yet, except that it's slippery underneath and especially where there's no track, gaiters are quite necessary. Of course, conditions will be completely different tomorrow.
