Piz Boe

On Tuesday 5.8.2014 we climbed to Piz Boe. Via ferrata was planned but canceled due to bad weather. At the top we had some fresh snow nasmeh. The summit is very visited because many arrive by cable car to Sass de Pordoi 2950 m high! Otherwise super tour!

Adding a few pics..

Like last year we also headed to the Dolomites this year... specifically Piz Boe via ferrata Brigata Tridentina 23-26.7.14... weather caused some trouble the first day then it was ok.. The path itself super approx. 2.5 hours in ferrata to Piscadu hut and to the top another good 4 hours... personally the Giovanni Lipela ferrata on Tofano Di Rozes seemed harder to me.

On Sunday 28.9.2014 fantastic conditions for ascent to Piz Boe summit 3152m. Sun and fantastic views richly rewarded our good four drives from Ljubljana to Passo Pordoi saddle from where we started. Since the summit is easily accessible as it can be shortened a lot by gondola to 2848m height it was accordingly well visited.

Great, Rok, I was hiking around there a month ago and will return next year and more... If anyone wants to go with me or takes me along, I'll be glad.
Good luck and safe steps.

On Thursday, my colleague and I climbed Piz Boe. On the summit, no one else but us. There is some snow in the Dolomites but still too little. Probably already now a completely different picture.

Rerze11: Sending you a link where you can view all mountains for which you don't know which ones so_http://www.udeuschle.selfhost.pro/panoramas/makepanoramas_en.htm
Anyway those peaks are above Villnostal - Geislergruppe-Le Odle (Gran Fermeda, Sas Rigais and Furcheta, known by Messner who already as a child there climbed up - his birthplace). One pic for Antelaotom is Croda da Lago.

After Marmolada we chose something easier and of course planned a circular route.
From Pordoi Pass towards Pordoi notch, under scree to the right (path 626) to Vallon-Kostner hut, which is nicely panoramic and completely easy. About half an hour before the hut we turned left into gully (path 638); in upper part of gully rope helps and reached ledge on east side of mountain. From there to summit less than an hour easy path. Descent towards Sass Pordoi and gondola to pass.

It looks like they couldn't quite agree on how to number it, on Tabacco 05 map it is 626.4
Along the eastern slopes to the southern approach ridge.5
The hut is nicer than the antennas.6
Towards the hut at Škrbina Pordoi.7
There across would be quite a lot of interesting things.8

From the Pordoi pass initially easy, then steep path over scree to Forcella Pordoi hut (2848 m). From there right to the summit (3152 m) and back the same path. At F.P. hut I met first groups (Japanese, ...) who arrived by gondola to Sass Pordoi (starts at 9:00). Then "skiing" over scree to Pordoi pass.

On Tuesday we drove to Pordoi pass, morning again fantastic, this time earlier, previous day experience taught us!! Almost alone at parking at 8am, immediately towards Sass Pordoi, then right to Ferrata Piazzetta. Couple of hikers already in ferrata, here no kids, inexperienced have nothing here. Right at start with Nino excites us, steps sooo worn, everything on arms, must admit one of hardest ferratas for us. Hard to imagine what to those who can't??!! Higher much easier, views crazy beautiful, think all very happy who climb Piz Boe not arrive by gondola, those majority, hundreds around... Down express, whole tour under five hours nasmeh

If someone had told me a month ago that I'd reach a 3000er this year, I'd say only in fog. That he's dreaming. It happened that one seat was left free in the van and I accidentally joined. On Tuesday 14.8. wasn't exactly a day for mountains. Cloudy and rainy. But we still got to the top. You can drive high here anyway. And since it didn't look best, decision was to take gondola to 2950 m. Ride lasted two minutes and a bit. Then to the top that hour of walking still without rain. Descent we had in drizzle. But we decided to go on foot to Pordoi pass, where transport waited. Overnight was booked on the other side in hut Aronzo, where the famous three Cines are.
At Pordoi pass we prepare ourselves.1

Not much, time to head down because it started drizzling.22
Then more and more intense.23
Later it cleared up.24
