If you have any exploratory spirit, there's another circular variant. It either starts or ends a bit below the towers (pic 7). It traverses the whole south wall and ends/starts at the saddle where the secured path branches off (cables). But this traverse is more recommended in dry conditions! It is nicely followable and has protections - cables at certain points. lp

This is a hunting trail that crosses the slopes of Peca. Nice...interesting, a bit hidden. Lp

Nicely described and documented ascent from the mountain in "our" parts. This Saturday I also "checked" the views from the top of Kordeževa glava (already more than hundredth time ), which in beautiful winter days are really boundlessly beautiful. But I really don't remember so little snow on the mountain at this time. Perhaps a supplement to pic 11, where is panorama of Savinja Alps from Dleskovec, V. Vrh, Ojstrica with Planjava to Brana.

Thanks for your responses and suggestions . piotr, your sharp eye for spotting deficiencies in the writing worried me a bit, as it seemed to me that you are completely at home in these parts .

ločanka, Bistriška špica and Veška Kopa are a nice tour above Železna Kapla, you drive to Koprein-Petzen (Pod Peco), not far from Loka. Also the whole ridge (all peaks) can be nicely done from there

For me personally the best starting point and nicest path to conquer the three peaks (Končnikov vrh, Bistriška špica, Veška Kopa) is from Kumra. Also there it's possible to loop the path on return via planina Luže.

@turbo You probably meant from Globasnica. Otherwise possible, the path goes past Ojstra and Topica, and Luže further to Peca is more for runners. Železna Kapla is better for start to Obir.

This trail in winter conditions is only for the most persistent, because without crampons or skis it's very difficult to get to the top.

Even in winter there was also a foot track, and I skied from the top at least five times. Even sledding from the hunting hut down sometimes. In dry conditions you're on Bistrška špica in 2 hours, in winter it's of course different. I gave the tour idea for better weather, in winter few tackle the ridge if it's snow-covered of course. For Ljubljana and area, Planina Luža from Železna Kapla is one of the more convenient starting points, as it's quite close compared to our Carinthia.

Now that area from the windthrow is completely changed. Some new clearings have been made. I too was there in winter with skis several times, also with snowshoes, a few times. The marked trail was in winter hindered by snow-laden branches, and also if there was a thick snow cover, very obstructed. There was no one to trim the trees a bit. Then people walked or skied, however one managed.

Kumer-Peca-Črna As part of K-24. We walked this path yesterday afternoon. From the start lots of bare ground. Above the tree line a more serious winter area begins. A bit better if you choose the hunting path. On the marked one, due to the afternoon thaw, you have to walk carefully on the track, which is of course drifted. Otherwise you can sink to your ass, but rarely. To Knipsovo sedlo it's winter walking. To the top of Peca it's good to stick to the bare spots, the rest is icy. Towards home on Peca and lower it's quite spring-like, unless it's still frosty. We arrived in Črna in the dark.

Hi, does anyone maybe know what conditions on Peca are? Webcam at hut shows 25cm. Passable to top? Need snowshoes? Thanks and LP

These days you can leave the snowshoes at home, they'll just be a hindrance. Peca soon has trodden paths to the hut and then to the top, so go boldly. lp

Yesterday to Kordeževa glava from Topla gr then down. Snow more or less on the whole path, but melts fast in the lower part. Two newly fallen trees on the path. Took shortcut directly to saddle. To the top ideal for walking. Finally some winter up there. Summit windless and nice view. Also to Knipsovo sedlo and down to Topla track laid. Snowshoes only for crossing whole Peca and ascent to Bistrška špica, to Kordeževa glava it's highway
