I was looking if there's already something written on this forum, but nothing. The trail runs above the valley of the Čemšenik stream on the right bank of the Kokra. The easiest way to reach it is to go to the Čemšenik Hut and then to Javorov vrh. Approximately halfway to the saddle, a sign directs us right. Then follow the yellow dots. The trail is quite scenic, exposed in places, so be careful (steep grass!!!). There are two benches at scenic spots along the trail. The end of the trail is at Zajc/Kremsar. From there, we can return to the starting point by road or paths. A few more photos:

I've hiked the panoramic trail already 2x, but always in the opposite direction, which seems more sensible and safe due to walking on steep grasses, since in this case we mostly ascend the grasses. So from the Čemšenik Hut head towards Kremsar and then after approx. 20-25 min turn left to the panoramic trail, junction marked, trail too (red and yellow dots). Recently they "completed" or extended this trail, so now it actually makes a full loop above Čemšenik. From Čemšenik left to Baba, unmarked but well trodden path, then along ridge to Potoška, soon another bench with nice views to Krvavec and surroundings. Trail follows ridge a while, then before first steeper ascent turns right (marked), crosses slope right until joins the one to Čemšenik - Javorjev vrh path (pic 5). Definitely the panoramic trail you can shorten/extend at will is worth close inspection

Praise and congratulations to the enthusiasts for arranging the panoramic trail, but the inox benches and smooth boards don't fit into the alpine part of nature at all. It would be easy to saw a small larch nearby, split the trunk lengthwise, and carve legs and backrest. You need only a chainsaw and a small axe, maybe a nail; if the wood is massive, no nails are needed because the heavy wood binds itself.... Now the trail can be extended to Slaparjeva gora and Škrbina (beautiful ridge). Best, I

Hello Ivan I'll rather just joke. The guys had the idea and opportunity to do it themselves; they were diligent. It is true that it doesn't fit into the alpine part of nature; I fully agree with you. Your benches would be much nicer Nice evening, Nevenka

Congratulations to the hikers of PD Iskra Kranj for arranging this nice trail, also from me, and praise for the nice bench positions. Currently on the open part below Javorov vrh there are some small fallen spruces (remains of snow avalanche). I couldn't move them. Otherwise, the mostly narrow path on steep terrain requires caution and a stronger lower leg. Mine was the left one, as I started the loop towards Krems. Note that you need to go past the farm and not up the steep slope to the wooden houses on the right, although it is possible there too via junctions and a longer path.

This year too, a few days ago we mowed the grass on the panoramic trail route and arranged it further. So the fear of ticks is largely unnecessary.

Today after shift along the panoramic trail in the direction Krems - Baba. The trail is in great shape, well trodden, and already quite known I hoped for sunnier weather, but the sun hid behind clouds for a long time, and there was a bit of wind. Super loop, from car to car about 10 km. At Čemšenik they have a new guardian - fox Nanota

From today onwards hikers on the panoramic trail can sign the book placed at the highest point of the trail (1180 m), at the second bench.

No major changes on the panoramic trail, just caution needed at the grape roasting spot where there are still landslide remnants, to avoid any unnecessary slips. The same before reaching the ridge leading to Baba, as the trail below is partly icy. Mostly the trail is dry and passable bp. No ticks yet, but wild boars have well churned up the trail and its banks, and mouflon and chamois are around these parts

In recent days the fine guys have mowed the grass on the panoramic trail below Javorov vrh. We also inform hikers that this year we have made a new trail branch leading from Dom Čemšenik across the clearing towards the first (eastern) bench. From Dom Čemšenik the trail leads towards Potoška gora and after 300 m a sign directs you right towards the clearing.

Yesterday we mowed the grass on the panoramic trail below Javorov vrh in the Kokra valley. Now the trail is nicely visible, passable and no need to fear ticks.

To the first scenic bench on the panoramic trail, then to the hut at Čemšenik for something warm and good Irena is an excellent cook, so I highly recommend

Hello, yesterday we were at Dom Čemšenik for the first time and this circular panoramic trail tempted us for next time. Given the steepness and terrain variety, which direction do you recommend for ascent and descent? From the valley first to Krems farm and past all benches to Baba and back to the hut and then by road to the valley? As the trail is described? How much additional ascent is there to Javorov vrh and Potoška gora? To better imagine the whole thing. Nice that this trail has many variants and you can decide on the spot based on wishes, abilities, weather, ... Similar to the circular trail on our familiar peaks above Sorisko planina.

First to Čemšenik, then to Baba, at Volčje jame left to Potoška gora back on the same path, then to Javorov vrh, back to Volčje jame then continue on panoramic to Krems. On descent from Krems where the fence ends turn left onto steep cart track so you avoid the road. Potoška and Javorov vrh take you an hour to an hour and a half. Warning. Around Krems there are tons of ticks. Sometimes the connection between Krems and Čemšenik was abandoned because of them.
