No need to open new topics. An attentive reader on hribu.net already knows now when a hiker has too little muscle mass for family mountain visits.

I'm not speaking in any other name, but my own. My motto is: enjoy the mountains. Most of the time I hike to the mountains alone, occasionally I do tours with my better half, sometimes we did tours with the kids, but it didn't always work out (read: they weren't overly enthusiastic). Occasionally I go with a group too, if we manage to arrange a joint weekend. But my only goal is still: go to the mountains and return alive and healthy back to the family. Even if a person is ever so careful, look at that, no one is immune to the web of strange circumstances. E.g. I cycle a lot, but last year I fell hard right in front of home, even though I do three to four tours a week. And on Donačka I've already been picking up rabbits, and I go up regularly. I think no one injures themselves on purpose. But it can happen to anyone. And I won't polemicize anymore. But this debate is strange given that you're so fervently convinced that something like that can't happen to you. Judge not, that ye be not judged. And safe steps to all further and a sober head.

https://www.pzs.si/novice.php?pid=13549 PZS says: The path over Komarča was last inspected on 13 October 2018, when it turned out that all metal safety gear was in good condition, but some trees had fallen on the path which need to be removed, and that wooden side supports and steps are worn out in some places. That means, since the end of winter no one from the "designated" has gone through the path or at least received information about the condition. Based on the photos from the previous page, we could say that the steps are DESTROYED and dangerous metal remnants, not safety gear. Let's not close our eyes. Volunteers are no longer sufficient, the municipalities will have to open the purse and distribute the collected tourist tax. The path to Skuta shows a similar condition. How long has that rock been there already?

Just because the path is not in particularly bad condition, we still can't ignore it. And the fact that other paths are even worse doesn't mean we shouldn't pay attention to this one. Ideally, all paths would be excellently maintained - for every one where we can do something, it's worth doing. Bureaucrats who look for regulations and point fingers at everyone else are largely responsible for the situation being what it is - maybe it's not particularly bad, but it could be much better. Ultimately, one less fatality, which is worth every investment.

Let the paths be arranged so it's safe for everyone, so there are fewer fatalities. Tourists don't see and don't know the paths, it's interesting to them because it's beautiful and they want to have a good time, foolishness leads to an accident that can be tragic, so path maintenance and mandatory signs also in foreign languages not just in Slovenian, then there will be fewer victims.

Given that there are more and more tourists and not mountaineers on mountain paths, it will be necessary to mark some paths as "marked pathless terrain". That means the markings only indicate the easiest passages, everyone takes care of their own safety.

Well, now you're exaggerating a bit. We're talking about a normal approach to one of the most famous and frequented corners of our hills and the area of TNP establishment. Even the Italians maintain the path to Lake Sorapiss a bit more regularly than e.g. that one past Lake Ciul, although on paper both are marked paths.

So there are fewer fatal cases, because that also casts a bad light on us, foreigners swarm like flies, and ours too, it's good to mark paths so they are visible to all, foreigners and our mountaineers, in all languages, many don't understand the markings

For every activity in life, one needs to educate oneself. But everyone would go to the mountains who happens to pass through a beautiful landscape with a view of the mountains! Sure, why not, but for those there are PZS hiking guides and mountain guides available. Safe to all, wherever you go!

Tadej, please nicely move pages from thirteen to sixteen to the "Accidents in the mountains" section, since you can't get to the Seven Lakes anymore. At least not here. Additionally, I ask you to open a section "Primož reports and advises", so we can more easily find all the wisdom of this world in one place. Thanks

Everyone has their own experience regarding dangers in the mountains, but everything is a web of fate, fitness is one thing, pounding sun into the head at 35 degrees and even without a hat as I saw with some young tourists on the way to Krn and too little fluid is inviting disaster, whoever challenges gets the challenge or survives or becomes food for the flies,

@primoza Please, for once stop comparing your professionalism to ordinary responsible hikers. What is bp. for you is a completely different situation for others. Mountain trails are also intended for others. Best regards!

Primož, given your excellent psychophysical condition, after a pleasant refreshment at Orglicas you probably extended the track at least to Petkove njive. You are character-wise unshakable. No one moves you even a millimeter.
