Yes, I felt a bit uneasy too, but no panic in the end.

King's Peak above Rablje, Sunday 10.4.2017. Above Rablje rises this excellent viewpoint, for which you need to put in quite some effort. Between high overgrown storm pines and numerous bushes of blooming dwarf pine the path winds. At first not so steep, somewhere from Little King's Peak steeper. So even legs burn and lungs work at full capacity. Snow, despite early April, is almost gone, only on the ridge about 15 min below the summit some remains. But here special caution is needed, a mistake brings you quickly to the valley. In how many pieces I don't know, it doesn't interest me. Slovenians took the summit, four of us. Everyone enjoyed their own world, with their thoughts. Mine wandered several times towards Viš, which recently claimed two victims. Igor and Tatjana, true mountaineers in love with mountains. Igor especially these areas, his home ones. Upper part of the mountain is covered with dense bushes, walking in them in such scorching heat as last weekend is really tormenting. Steepness on return perhaps even worse, sometimes you just wonder if the path is right. Blooming spring flowers adorn the path and give reason for short break. We took longer one at Little KŠ, enjoyed views and at the same time planned tours ahead. Storm pines of various sizes inspire us. Weathered and old they wait for their end. Stories of people who walked here are different, as our paths are different. For some these paths ended too soon, for others they just prolong. Thanks to the mountain for welcoming us. And thanks to Igor for wonderful posts, thoughts, also meetings. Some did accumulate. Enjoy among the stars

I like that she captured in the photos also the border ridge with Grintavec, Skutnik, High Spire and Hlebec (like e.g. photo 36 or 112). This part is rarely photographed.

These parts of border mountains are also very rarely visited and accordingly quiet and peaceful. a couple of pics from winter 16/17

@ločanka and MANGRT, yes as you say Nice areas, visit them from Remšendal or from Mangart Pasture, also paths from Predel lead there. In winter wonderful not too hard couloirs from our side and from many summits or cols nice skiing down. In Primorske Stene it says like this: http://www.primorskestene.com/?mod=aktualno&action=viewOne&ID=40

Some pics from today's King's Peak, took ice axe with me, crampons in backpack, snow 20cm in places, elsewhere less. For now still ok under bush tunnel. Weather from cloudy and later snowing completely improved, so beautiful at summit.

. It's probably true that time must also ripen to climb it. That's why it's probably not a very visited mountain. It's a mountain you can easily overlook when driving past it to other peaks. It doesn't have that attractive appearance that usually attracts gazes, quite the opposite. But when you're on its summit, the mountain rewards you with royal views that offer themselves already during the ascent. The Viša group and mountains above White Brook Valley open up more with every step and stir the imagination. On the other side, your eye stops at the slowly rising border ridge from which individual rocky loners protrude, of which the walls of Grintavec, Skutnik and High Spire are most attractive. This is the Mysterious world of Predel Peaks, whose royal image is closed in the background by the better-known Mangart and Jalovec. The summit itself offers views into the distance too, at least on Saturday it was so. Antelao, Glödis, Great Klek and Ankogel are just the most resounding names of those presenting themselves with completely snow-covered appearance. We didn't hurry on the path, no need to chase anyone, we chased only exceptional views, so we stayed on the top for quite a while . On the return we detoured to Rabeljski Waterfall which we noticed from the path. We walked right to its pool and enjoyed the spray of its water droplets. A tour that really calls for repetition, perhaps in some other season, at another time of day or anytime . Truly unforgettable! ]]>
