Montaž

Yes, obviously primitive and egoistic behavior from the valleys is moving to the mountains. Sticks, shoes, crosses are disappearing... Who knows, maybe someone puts up prayer flags and the Himalaya will be closer. And "in" would be even better, since openness to the east is a pride for today's man, even though we don't know our own history well enough. Sadly we too often prefer to hate and remove the annoying...

Gregcs1, you came via Kugy-direct to Montaž. I'm interested how it looks because they say it's quite a nice classic. Worth checking outzavijanje z očmi

Rok, how much time did you need for this tour? Also give me a comparison of your units of speed with those in the guide, please, because it seems to me you ran the whole path! Franci

At that time I calculated that I would need 16 hours of pure walking if I walked as fast as indicated on the signs.
I myself then needed approx. 15 hours for the entire path together with breaks, photographing etc. I extended the path a bit more because I also went to Vrh Brda. So I didn't hurry really much, but that's why night caught me a bit below Mazzeni bivouac.
From the message of user 100jan on the previous page it's evident that it can be done much faster too.
But one needs to know that this is a very long tour for one day and it runs mostly on "ferratas". If you don't have really a lot of fitness, it's better to hike this path in two days.

@BT88

Unfortunately no. We went the normal route via Pipan's ladder. The rope was because of two "beginners" (you never know what comes), but no problems, so I had it just for weight velik nasmeh
Kugy's is definitely planned! (as soon as I find someone brave velik nasmeh )

The path along the ridge is snowy and icy.

thanks, can it be done just with crampons..?? or would it be better to avoid the ridge and go straight on the path past Suringar bivouac?

from SSKJ:

Yesterday (5.9.) from planina Zajzere over Via Amalija and then via ferrata Leva to planina Pecol. Our plan was also Cerie Merlone, but there was thick fog on the ridge above and friendly guys from Poreč offered us a ride from Pecol to Zajzere, so we finished the planned route earlier. No snow and ice on the whole path.

Yesterday - 11.9. from Zajzere via ferrata Via Amalia to Montaž and descent to planina Pecol. In Zajzera we somewhat "struggled" finding the path, as the scree between markers is very extensive. Well, for those going - current orientir is dry torrent bed from under Montaž (right side facing Montaž). We took it through the bed past bivak Stuparich to wall entry. Path well equipped with protections. Most caution needed descending steep grass to bivak Suringar, rocks ice-covered some places. From bivak climbed through Findeneg icefield to summit ridge of Montaž, fog caught us. It cleared and reappeared even at peak. Descended Pipan ladder and scree to planina Pecol. Great tour, nearly 9 hours.

Let me add my pebble to Montaž too, as it rains so nicely. Up we went Pipanovi, back along the ridge. On the lojtra it's a real pleasure when it swings. The more times I go, the more I like it. But always quite crowded.
Nice weather and chamois, what more could one wish...
