Ljubelj Hut via ridge to Zelenica

With Metoda we planned towards Suho ruševje, but from Zelenica nothing was trodden. So we went to Vrh Ljubeljščice and along the Ljubeljščica ridge to Stari Ljubelj. Lots of windblown snow on the ridge. Broke through to the knees and more. Took quite some time to Ljubelj Hut, but rewarded with wonderful views of untouched snowy landscape. Only met 2 hikers at Povna peč. At the pass lots of sledders.

Bravo Tinky and Todi, you trod well. We went to Povna peč. It's interesting that so few people visit it, yet it offers such a nice view. Tinky, stitch up your trouser leg well so it will serve diligently again. nasmeh

Since last time Tinky and Todi broke trail on the ridge, wind played hard with still untreated snow and their effort vanished without a trace. Today to Polna peč still had the help of footprints, further to Triangel untouched snowy fairy tale. Snow sinks to the back side too, weather not too cold, wind finished raging allowing enjoyable ramble. nasmeh

Todi, thanks. I don't know in which direction it's better to tackle it, but definitely it has an elegant, always plowed starting point - paradise for summer tires on winter days nasmeh

Yesterday it didn't look like staying in the valley, at least not for us mountaineers, I pictured Polna peč as a nice winter viewpoint, since I have the whole ridge path in summer conditions in a beautiful though somewhat distant memory. So it was necessary to go a bit further on the ridge path, at least enough for the views of the last peaks of the ridge to open up more, which shone nicely in the sun. While up to Polna peč you could see quite a few hikers, there was no interest in the path ahead. Yet that part of the path was the nicest. nasmeh

Lara, the younger granddaughter would like to go to Triglav this year, so we went to gather some fitness. From Ljubelj along the border trail to the hut on Zelenica, after tea and coffee to Vrh Ljubelščice. After a short break then along the Ljubeljščica ridge to Stari Ljubelj. We were early enough to have quite nice weather. The bit of snow that fell overnight caused no problems, everything was just even nicer. We met some hikers on the ridge, all going in the opposite direction to us.

On Thursday again on this ridge path. It is still beautiful and varied and still at some spots so exposed that it demands caution. The season of colorful flowers and reptiles begins... mežikanje

From Ljubelj past the hut at the old crossing first to Povna peč and along the ridge to Vrh Ljubelščice and Spodnji plot. To the Zelenica hut for coffee and back via hunter's trail. The trail on the ridge is narrow and overgrown, so I was wet almost to my waist. Huge amount of flowers along the path. Didn't meet anyone to Zelenica. Was early, so weather held and views were nice.

Along Ljubeljščica ridge, why not. A wonderful day shaped up. No wind and temperature just right for walking. At Spodnji plot though the cross got on someone's nerves badly, as it lies broken in the scrub.
