Thanks a lot, so on foot from Zg. Radovna, then as far as possible. Tomorrow it should be a bit warmer.

New info on road accessibility to Krma. Road plowed this morning and passable even for passenger cars to Kovinarska koča, parking for about 5 vehicles arranged. Those who went to Kredarica today will report on conditions.

Yes, as Igor wrote the road is already plowed, but in the morning it wasn't yet, so on foot from Zg. Radovna, which extends the path by approx. 1 hour one way. In the lower part of the path snow was breaking through at times, so I put on snowshoes which I used to 'Prgarca'. Higher up about 20cm dry snow, not everywhere bonded to the base and if you don't want surprises put on crampons, without which the last ascent is impossible, completely iced. Today at the top still very windy, otherwise beautiful day. LP

Some more ski pics (for drooling) from today's path to Kredarica. Legs too weak, so only to top of slope above Prgarca (to where view opens to Triglav and Kredarica). Then down. Skiing conditions quite solid, just new snow windblown to ice base in places, so had to stay alert. Through forest under thick beech excellent slalom between trees. Road from Kovinarska koča really plowed (bring shovel for parking, roughly cleared), slopes sprinkled with gravel, so detours on skis through woods.

@ploha Judging by the pictures, the hut at Kredarica will be snowed up to the roof until the end of winter. Thanks, so that we can still see what's happening up there. Many more descents from the mountains and a heartfelt valley greeting.

Hi.
Yeah, I would go to Kredarica for New Year's. Maybe we meet below and go together, whoever plans to go. For the time when to start from Krme, we'll arrange. Suggestions welcome.

Hi Miha! I plan to go up there again this year, if conditions are at least like last year. LP

And by chance for New Year's Eve or sleeping up there do you need to announce anything in advance?

Kredarica has about 300 beds, usually around 100 are taken up there on New Year's Eve, depending on conditions sometimes more, so no panic about reservations, of course no one from Matica will be up there in winter, those are the main weathermen there. Maybe I'll head up there next week too.

Hello! elpadre: We'll go at 7am from Krma, although I've already arranged with friends, for now it's not sure how many of us will go together.. At least me and Ana. Others can join, but let me say we usually have a good pace so we reckon 4-5 hours, depending on conditions and how much rest-photographing. Of course it can always take a bit longer. miljer: Conditions will most likely be better and definitely nicer than last year, only thing worrying me a bit is still 3rd degree avalanche danger for now, although from Krma there shouldn't be problem and by Friday it will be better, hopefully... meta.nacy: Given that the road was drivable on 11.12. for cars up to Kovinar's hut then no more major snowfalls, thaw and rain did their thing, at the end of precip some snow again... If the road isn't drivable yet it will be, at least usually is at this time. See you up there if not before...

Igor, you might be right about avalanches, but you have to admit, once you're walking up there you kinda forget about it - like in a fairytale! Anyway thanks for the warning!
