This topic is quite interesting! I'll write a bit more. I also found that mountaineering gear is best bought where salespeople are experienced mountaineers. So you just tell them what you need and for what purpose you'll use it or where you'll go. So now I only shop at stores like: In LJ K2alpinist, Annapurna http://www.annapurna.si/, then in Kamnik or at Perovem 3S sport http://www.3s-sport.com/, where they have several salespeople, each mastering their field, and Koala Sport in Bled http://www.koala-sport.si/

Iglu sport is also a professional store for mountaineering gear. Salespeople are experienced mountaineers - I sometimes prefer to pay an extra euro, and they can advise me too.

I buy mountaineering gear online whenever possible. I kind of defend the salespeople too, given their miserable wages they aren't always in the mood. We aren't always either, right?

I mostly buy mountaineering gear in big stores Hervis, Intersport... I'm satisfied and it's a few € cheaper than in specialized stores.

Since you're talking about Kibuba.. I recently got a phenomenal piece of clothing - sneaker - it wasn't super cheap (100 EUR) but I really wear it always when I go to any sport (hiking, skiing, skating, running, cycling etc). Haven't seen anything like it - you look like a ninja but it's great. Material is cool too. Had it for a couple months and it's held up well. So... Kibuba is cool

Hi I'll ask here. Interested if anyone has experience with Milo pants. How are they, fit, seams, materials, durable? Price is really good. Comparison with others (karibu, gornik, patagonia,...) Thanks for answers!

Oh. I have Milo pants, Nito model. Been wearing them for a year and a half now, and they're really worn on the butt. Great stuff. Worth getting, though I don't have experience with other brands. They're really worth the money.

Milo products are THE LAW !!! In KIBUBA store they have everything for mountaineers. I'm equipped from head to toe for the mountains and I have to tell you, no bad experiences so far. Sellers (at least in Bled) aren't the most experienced mountaineers, but if you know a bit about the gear yourself, you'll find something. I have double NITO pants, stopper, backpack, sweatshirts, gloves, Kayland boots,... in short, I'm happy. They also have COMPETITIVE PRICES. Check out Monarh too, good and affordable pants there - NORDSEN !! Best regards!

You're overcomplicating it a bit.

Peter2, I agree, otherwise it's like this, Kibuba is a bit cheaper and closer to me, Iglu is a bit more expensive but not too far, the others I don't get to often, and when I do I curse the depth/shallowness of my wallet. Everywhere they have something I think I absolutely need. See you in the mountains.

sneaker is a piece of clothing intended for hikers, climbers, alpinists, ski tourers, it has specially reinforced shoulders, reinforced elbows and Schoeller palms, the material is Polartec Powerstretch, known as the best Polartec material (breathes better and dries faster), it also has a hood that in summer can be used as wind protection, in winter instead of a beanie. There's also an attached strap that climbers love the most so it doesn't expose their back while climbing. That's it

The worst in my opinion is that when I go to buy some gear I have more info about the item than the seller Usually I check out the item or group of items I'll buy online or in catalogs beforehand. So far I've been lucky with purchases. Praise goes to Iglu Sport Kranj store.

Fazo, I have Milo Nito pants and another newer winter model don't know its name. Had them 1.5 years and they're really good for the price.

I get in K2 at Bor's, Lj, almost everything I need for the mountains at a very good price. If something is missing, I find it in other shops, where everyone has something. Promontana e.g. good Vaude tents, underwear, clothes. Anapurna technical gear, shoes, touring equipment. Iglu has a bit mixed quality, but holds already twenty years the same firms' articles, which are not to my liking (Karibu, Camp, Ferino, Salewa, Lorpen, Garmont...). At Kibuba I buy least, because you must collect some stamps for discount, where elsewhere it's already self-evident with the alpine club card. I think though that occasionally something good could be found outside too.
