Kamniški vrh and Korošaški waterfalls
|

Today we visited Kamniški vrh. The path is very steep in the middle section and in different weather conditions (snow, ice) it is probably quite demanding. We returned via planina Osredek - very nice, at times also demanding due to the steep descent path, but very nice and picturesque! Regards

The path is really very steep and in weather like now, it is better to visit the Koroška waterfalls. I've been to the Kamniški vrh quite a few times, always had to watch how I walk. The Koroška waterfalls are very nice if they have water and I think there is no lack of it these days.

But even for visiting these waterfalls some effort is needed. The path that branches off while descending from planina Osredek leads to a quite steep gully. It's a shame that due to lack of time we haven't gone to see the waterfalls yet. Is there any other path to the waterfalls - or is the one I noticed on the descent the right one?? Regards

You probably started the path at the little bridge over the Bistriča? If you go by car further approx. 500 m, you reach the confluence of two brooks. On foot you ascend the path along the right brook uphill. The brook becomes steeper and steeper and soon you reach the first waterfalls. When tired you can simply end the ascent, or climb up to the path you mentioned above. The path is quite steep in places.

On the Kamniški vrh I met a local and when I asked him about the Koroška waterfalls, he replied. This name, the waterfalls got recently and before they were never called that. He doesn't know who named them so! Regards

The confluence is down in the valley, in the middle of Klemenčevo village.

Today after work to Kamniški vrh. As most times, I start from the end of the asphalt. Up the steep path left along Rožica to the summit; for variety I take it over steep rocks and grass briefly my own way (Trentar's double ). Grintovce unexpectedly cloudy, I hoped for sun ... Along the great ridge via Planjava to Osredek. Among bells and saffron towards the cross. Behind it to the scenic ridge. I follow the steep path down it. Quite low, right branches off an even nicer one above Korošaka stream. Towards the waterfalls. Since the day isn't drying up yet I climb to the upper one, between them ... Nice little pot the water carved between them! At the car before sunset. Beautiful circular tour. In nice and dry weather highly recommended. Objective warnings? Steep to Kamniški vrh, steep on the path after the cross, and waterfalls ... higher than to the lower one (which is the nicest anyway), I advise against it for those unaccustomed to off-path terrain! The terrain above the first waterfall is very demanding, traverses into Korošak gully very exposed to slipping (scree, steep grass, wet)! From the car to the waterfalls is a nice trip. Greetings.

I will visit it again too, even though I'm 50km away from the starting point for the hike to it. Last time, a little dog from the lower farms joined us on the hike and did the whole path with us. When we returned to the car (at the bridge), he nicely headed back home. Regards

Hi, hi, this dog also accompanied us last year from the starting point in the village ...to Kamniški vrh, via planina Osredki back to the village again. Obviously has ambitions to become a mountain guide... Really interesting dog!

And did this dog eat some snack from you too. I had a similar case last year on Limbarska gora, when the dog went with me to the top. As payment for keeping me company he wanted part of my sandwich.

This dog went with us last year too, but didn't want to go home when we came down; wanted to go with us in the car. We left him there with a somewhat heavy heart as he looked so sadly after us.

I unfortunately forgot the snack in the car, so he got only a piece of chocolate. But I promised him half the sandwich when we get to the car. When we arrived at the car, he immediately headed home. At the top, a local with two kids invited him along - but he didn't go. His name is apparently Taček. Regards

Yesterday I visited Kamniški vrh. The path in the upper part is quite muddy; I felt how slippery it was on my backside. Of course on return I also visited Korošaški waterfalls, which don't lack water. Won't say there could be more, but quite satisfactory.

After yesterday's rain and today's cloudy morning we decided to visit Korošaške waterfalls. That the choice was right we saw right away when we started the ascent, as there was more than enough water. LP Esther and Tadej

Let this post be here, not under Kamnik Peak, to remind you a bit of our hidden corners. The fog held yesterday up to about 900 m, at least above the Ljubljana area it was like that. We drove to Krivčevo, then along the unmarked path past the Koroška Waterfalls to the Osredek pasture. From there along the ridge up to Planjava and on to Kamnik Peak. Down the ridge, then circular back to the car. No snow even for a sample, surprisingly almost no mud. Wind was blowing on the summit, but what can you do, the sun was shining. Water is plentiful everywhere, the waterfalls were more watery than at the beginning of the year when I was sneaking around them alone. Nice four hours and almost nine hundred meters of ascent, good for training and escaping from under the cloud cover.

New Year's Eve, "marsh-dweller's" escape from the city racket of fireworks and stubborn fog into a really wonderful sunny day, nice trip on the last day of the year. Happy 2013 to all mountain netizens Marjan

Edina, you nicely described and photographed the visit to Kamnik Peak. Tomorrow I'm heading there, as it's my house mountain, practically at my doorstep. At first it wasn't too appealing because it's quite steep, but over time it grew on me, rewarding every visit with different beauties and incredible flower diversity. Nice hiking greeting
