Here I really feel at home. Every year I walk everything from Štoržič to Krvavec - everything visible from Kranj plain.

This year botanizing Krvavec and surroundings and this time the tour to Veliki Zvoh, Ježa ridge, Vrh Korena, over Kalce to Kalška gora and over entire Kalški ridge to the top, back over Planina Dolga Njiva.

That shack on Veliki Zvoh really should be removed; overall, the summit of Veliki Zvoh presents a rather sorry sight, I won't explain why.

The only more demanding section of Ježa with steel cables.

Left side - green part of Kalški massif as seen from Ježa ridge. From the valley it looks entirely rocky.

From Vrh Korena, Kompotela no longer looks so friendly.

The entire mountain ridge from left onwards.

The first in front is Grintavec, behind hides Kočna.

From Grintovec onwards from left to right is Mali Grintavec and Dolgi hrbet - demanding via ferrata.

Further along Skuta there are two more peaks, which I somewhat confuse.

This is that last peak that hides a bit.

My first peak is Kalška gora - visible at the end of Kalški greben on the right.

From Vrh Korena descend to the saddle, where is the junction for the top of Kalški greben, for planina Dolga njiva and for Kalce. All is in red - hairy rhododendron.

A bit higher in the bushes, to Kalce turns right.

The path goes over extensive scree slopes.

Under the scree there is a puddle for chamois.

Across interesting eroded rocky terrain.

Summit of Kalška gora. Here the weather suddenly changes drastically. Suddenly everything is in fog.

I return over the entire Kalški greben - this is the section where there are wire ropes on top.

This is that section of the path with vertical cable sections.

On the path from Kalški greben I meet a huge herd of sheep.

Last year I met Doverjevi on Vrh Korena with Ambrož.

At the saddle then to the Dolge njive pasture.

Old abandoned hut - where are you, shepherdess whom we met about twenty years ago.

I always show this little spring on the Dolga njiva pasture as well.

Of course I return to the Jezerce pasture. The pasture is changing drastically - it will be a guesthouse or a small hotel.

As always on my tours as my trademark, also a couple of the most beautiful flowers of the tour - for the first time I find pink kačjak or gadjak.

Still Kamnik dry-stone walls, this time from Kalška gora.

For the end even July flax. The picture matches the tour length.

tinky, I fixed it. Started around half past seven in the morning, back to the car around six in the evening. But you need to know that I constantly stop when photographing alpine flowers. Sometimes I put the backpack down and poke around the path a bit or if I see it, climb to accessible rocks there. On the way back at Planina Dolga Njiva I treated myself to a half-hour rest for picking wild thyme, which you can't on Krvavec because of cattle grazing. My times are irregular for the third year. With this photography I have on average one third longer tour. Simply, I enjoy the tours, no rush. Nice Regards!

Finally - Kokrško sedlo - Kal Ridge - Koren - Zvoh - Krvavec - Kriška planina.

Yesterday I met only one hiker on this trail who was already returning from Kal Ridge. Views of the Kamnik Alps were beautiful... but the Julian Alps were hidden behind mists. The trail is perfectly secured on protected sections. At the top of Kal Ridge I met my namesake Meta and we headed together towards Krvavec... safe to all nasmeh

Yesterday... Žagana peč, Kal Ridge, Koren Peak, Kompotela, Mokrica, Košutna and return to the car through Škrbina. It was hot on the way, the trail itself BP.

24 hikers, super group, main guide Alenka, two assistants Roman and Rafko with endless patience with us. Crazy mess right at the start when Boris's new backpack spilled open. No wonder, with all the sandwiches, beer, cookies, four headlamps and more...Merciful guide Alenka showed determination this time and strictly ordered what must stay at Krvavec. Boris looked mildly but didn't object.
For the first day we set the route Krvavec - Zvoh - over Ježa, some for the first time on cables. Boldly on to Koren Peak. Descent to Škrbina and on to our 2000m Kal Ridge, finally for me first time.
Then the tougher part, descent from Kal Ridge and more adrenaline ascent to the next ridge and a hop to Kalška Peak. Wonderful views, Grintovec like on a plate, bunches of gentians too. From the top we already saw Cojzova hut at Kokrško sedlo, then careful descent on partly secured trail, partly unsecured, carefully, but all went well. Enough for first day, just hut christening, rest....
