I am interested in the conditions from Kotovo sedlo along the ridge to Jalovec. Does anyone have any information on the condition of the path and how much snow there is, if any?

Does one get tea and something to spoon at the Shelter under Špičkom? Thanks.

Hi! With my husband we were up on Sunday, went from Kotovo sedlo along the ridge - fairy tale! No snow anywhere anymore, except in Ozebník, which greatly hinders crossing if you have poles at home, like I had them! Good luck!

Where is it better to start the ascent, at Vršič or in Tamar?

The path from Vršič is easier, length about the same. Descent back to Vršič drags quite a bit. Regards!

The more gradual but longer route is from Vršič towards the shelter under Špička and then to the top past Vel. Ozebnik. From both directions you have about 6 hours of walking one way. Read the detailed path description under "Jalovec" (also lots of pics). One more thing I forgot: parking! At both ends they will .... Gorenjci rip you off properly. Nice tour! Jimy

Thanks for the information. We already did the tour and it was fantastic if I exclude my slip, which luckily ended only with some abrasions on the knee.

We went from Tamar over Kotovo sedlo and summit. Down not sedlo but through "scree" down. Scree is destroyed and full of gullies. Not recommended!!!!!!!!!!!!!! velik nasmeh

Hi! Tomorrow heading to Jalovec from Tamar via Kotovo sedlo, curious about the weather or if you recommend or advise against the ascent! Would start hiking around 7 a.m. Also interested in until when in the morning the barrier in Planica to Tamar is open, would go by car to Tamar! Thanks for opinions, cheers! Gašper

For tomorrow the weather forecast is rather iffy, better go on Sunday. About the barrier, sadly I don't know.

Change of plan, we'll go on Sunday instead, it's really safer regarding the weather, barrier supposedly open till 8am, asked Tamar hut keeper, so no problem...thanks, LP! Gašper

On Sunday I would head to Jalovec from Zadnja Trenta past Zavetišče pod Špičko but very curious how much hiking time "up and down"!
Best regards, Miran

Trail from Trenta much shorter than from Vršič. Normal pace 9 hours up and down no problem.V.

Which of all the paths to Jalovec is the easiest? Or which is the best secured? Thanks, Rožle.

From the shelter below Špička! To the shelter either from Vršič or from the hut at the source of the Soča. Good luck!

How is it with the road to Tamar? I heard the road is closed after a certain time. Interested when it's possible by car to Tamar and what is the price of road and parking. Thanks! Boris
