ARSO has had avalanche danger at 2 for more than 10 days. Less in winter is almost impossible, except if it's a dry winter. Of course, you need to know local specifics too. Grintovec is treacherous, especially if fog comes.
But I think it's completely inappropriate to judge the unfortunate mountaineer for what conditions he set off in. Most of us didn't even know him and we don't know how experienced he was.

Parkeljc, how bitter you are in the brain and heart, that you take time to write such a comment is the only thing that's really seriously wrong with you. A bit of understanding wouldn't hurt you; if conditions allowed, I would look around in the fog, no one searched, rescuers didn't either. Ljubitelj gora, for some quarantine seems to have really left big consequences (Parkeljc unfortunately far from the only one on this forum) and even more brought to light their severe limitations. Let me add my own little peep too.
To me, LG's statement "If there hadn't been fog I would have kept searching for the missing hiker" seems utterly contemptible.
Mountain rescuers are people who've gone through years of training and even when some experienced alpinist joins rescuers, he gets beginner status. LG would just casually go to the terrain and look around a bit... Nothing wrong with ascent to Grintovec, wrong is chest-thumping and giving a sense of superiority. That LG has issues with necromania and constantly posts links to mountain accidents is known for a long time.

@Urbban as you see no search happened, so any further discussion is unnecessary.... due to fog we all descended back. I search, walk, do whatever I can on my own, whatever I like. But only as long as I don't endanger others. What do you care if I climb in clear weather over some gully or steep terrain and once again so I don't endanger others.
Really low from some, you're like Janša and his, it hurts you because we're not his.
To become a rescuer you go through trainings and some are not alpinists, not guides, ordinary hikers who did some courses required by GRZS and became GRS members.
Anyway I'm not part of any organization and wouldn't become. Hills, mountains are freedom, to live dreams, not to boast around what awards you got. That I post pictures, you don't have to look at them. And I'm not even PZS member for years.

Maybe something is visible on the original picture... on this one that the site shrinks, no. I read somewhere (don't remember where), they found him at ca 1600m. If really on the picture in the circle, then that's before the slip/fall. Well, if he was at that spot, they'd find him quickly too, that's right at (or near) the junction for Kočna.
Anyway, may he rest in peace.
