Come on, mountain goat, be so kind and reveal where those beautiful narcissus meadows are that are already blooming... from where did you go up?? ...given that suki11 says he noticed only a few above Fencom, the rest still in shoots. If I take kids up for the weekend and there won't be such narcissus as on your pics it will be...

I'm also planning to GOLICA. Hut and its prices don't interest me, but NARCISSES!!! How about them. Are they already, and where??

Narcissus from previous page that mountain goat photographed are from Plavški rovt, you get there if on road from Jesenice (after 1km uphill) at intersection go left -dir Žerjavec, Plavški rovt (right Planina pod Golico). Further ca 2km serpentine road to mentioned village. Drive asphalt through. At end when asphalt ends park somewhere and start grazing (mainly with eyes and heart)... Well for small bunch picked they won't skin you, but better read sign instruction at village start..

Oh thanks heinz! Oh, does anyone even think of picking bouquets? We definitely leave them where they are biggest decoration - in nature (even if no sign).

Yesterday from Hrušica over Plavški Rovt to pl. pod Golico. On the map marked as a marked trail. No markings found, locals didn't know where. So went on partly overgrown path to Plavški Rovt. More by feel. Maybe someone knows the marked path? From pl. pod Golico in the direction of Rožica, at Jesenika pl. turned to Klek (no path to Rožica). Down to Jekljevo sedlo then along the ridge to Golica top. Very scenic, recommend (only issue poor markings). From top classic path past hut to pl. pod Golico over Jesenice to Hrušica (nearly 9h walk).

Yesterday first up to Klek, then down to Jekljevo sedlo from where up ridge path to Golica summit. From top down usual to hut, then to Rožica but only to where unmarked path left down to Ovčarska planina. From there down to Planina pod Golico where I started. Path from Jekljevo sedlo to top very muddy, recommend extra care. Cross path from Golica hut to Rožica difficult in places due to slides (fallen trees, ruined path, snowfields...) LP Tadej

Because the weather forecast promised good last night, we headed to Golica today. There are no daffodils on Golica itself yet, but there are quite a few down at the pasture. You just can't believe how many people you could meet up there. Golica offered itself in all its beauty, beautiful views and we'll definitely return there. Lp

I was up there yesterday too. I only got to the start by car around 15.30, so down below everything was full of cars, buses, vans, full of people. So I quickly found a parking spot, parked and quickly set off on other paths. I went on the WINTER path on the demanding path and met only two hikers. Up top when I arrived there were only about 5-10 hikers, when I got to the summit I met only two, when returning to the hut I met only 4 hikers in the hut. Definitely worth going in the afternoon on such a tour or really early in the morning to be at the top by 8.

Today I was at the top of Golica, luckily already at 8.30 and there was no living soul. The first pilgrims, more and more, started coming towards the top around 9.30. Strongly recommend visiting Golica in May on weekdays early morning, but strongly advise against visiting the hut on Golica, where the keeper was very unfriendly today because he had to make coffee and I didn't order e.g. lunch where he would earn at least 5€. What do they say: 'tourism is people'. And also: narcissuses you can watch from afar, as most meadows are protected with thick wires, which is effective when buses of hikers come to Golica.

Today no such crowd, clear, mid-week. Conditions: apparently these days on peaks of western Karavanke mainly unpleasant wind and cold prevail. Recommend windbreaker, gloves, even..-hat. LP Heinz!

Wonderful on Golica, even if you go through Plavški Rovt, then through Rožca past shepherd Jaka and through Klek to Golica and back to the Erlah inn where you can leave the car. It's a super trip, about 5 hours walking. Narcissi are still under the avalanche by the shepherd hut in Tamarju. Safe to go in rubber boots, because the ground is wet and the slipping risk is high. Enjoy.

Wonderful trip, especially for children who were on Golica for the first time. At the top quite strong wind, in the hut excellent žganci, overall rating excellent, helped by nice warm weather. Recommend to families with kids, as the path really isn't difficult. LP Andrej.

Yesterday we did a loop around the Karawanks, and it was beautiful as every year... From Planina pod Golicom over Rožca to Hrušca, from Hrušca to Dovška Baba, then back over Hrušca to Klek, and finally to Golica, then back over Fenc. From that side we met only 4 hikers. On Golica there was of course a crowd, but we were so tired that it didn't matter to us. A bit longer trip, but so beautiful that one wishes it was twice as long!

Today on Golica: frost, wind, fog, snowfall (that "orenk"). Some visitors, hut accidentally open, but couldn't get hot tea. Beer, yes. Otherwise officially no longer operating. Despite the weather it still holds that it's nicer in the mountains than in the valley. Gradually we'll need to prepare for using winter trails and gear.. Good luck, heinz!

Today: ideal conditions for winter hike. Trail trampled, snow dry, partly wind-blown. Icy, but not too much. Path from hut to summit turning left is somewhat awkwardly laid, less suitable for descent, better return via valley between G. and Krvavko. Up and back on winter path. No avalanches etc.. Crampons stayed in backpack. Regards heinz!
