... Carpinus.. from the hut to the top of Golica there are no daffodils. There are always only individual flowers. Most of them are under Krvavka and Mala Golica. From there also the photos by slavi902

Majdag, on the 9th picture is a monument to the former finance guard Brinšek. I found this on the web, and about this matter there was also writing in the newspaper Slovenski narod in 1924: "Smuggler murdered the finance guard. On Sunday afternoon, finance guard Mr. Brinšek from Mokronog was murdered on Golica. He was killed by Carinthian refugee Le-derer, who fled over the border to Austria after the murder. Murderer Lederer was a big scoundrel engaged in smuggling. Finance guards caught him many times, and finance guard Brinšek recently took 6 kg saccharin and 17 kg tobacco from him. Naturally, he was very angry at Brinšek because of this and threatened to kill him. On Saturday, Lederer came to the chief of the finance guard in Jesenice and asked for permission to go to Golica. His request was granted, and out of precaution, finance guard Brinšek was assigned to him as escort. — The group arrived around noon on Golica. Armed Brinšek went to the hut and laid down his rifle. A conversation developed between him and Le-derer. Then Lederer jumped at him and stabbed a knife deep into his chest under the neck. Brinšek collapsed unconscious to the ground, murderer Lederer fled to Carinthia. Brinšek died." Also, note that the daffodils on Mali Golica are now in full bloom, "fresher" ones are on Jekljevo sedlo towards Klek and Rožca saddle.

... d..Thanks, interesting. Except for the name, nothing is readable. From the cap on the monument I thought it was some soldier. But it has its own story. For the daffodils under Rožca I know, they are just buds, maybe someone will decide for that direction, since it is not far from Golica, thanks

Brankoc, where did you start hiking from? Tomorrow we plan to visit Golica. We'd start at Planina pod Golico. I'm interested if the path will take us past Mali Golica? I'd like to see the narcissuses. We're not from this part of Slovenia, so we don't know all these paths yet. Thanks!!

We started at Planina pod Golico and went in the direction past the hut on Velika Golica, descent via Krvavka and Mali Golica and over Sedlo Suha, Markljev rovt and Savske jame back to Planina pod Golico. On descent near the start we found a beautiful waterfall on one of the tributaries of Črni potok, but it's quite hidden and unmarked. Even uncle Google doesn't find data on it!!!

Narcissi waited until Saturday; it was gorgeous, the carpet of fragrant white flowers from Krvavka towards Mali Golica took our breath away and richly rewarded us for every step, every drop of sweat; yes, Golica is really GOLICA in capitals; and Bojan, thanks for the kind explanations; regards

dija - nice hike. I'm curious how long it took you to hike? Good luck and safe steps

Since I'm slower, plus snack breaks and time for views and rests, it all took about 9-10 hours (that was the plan, full day hike, then rest in the hut). Otherwise signs say 4-5 hours, without side peaks.

To Golica from Križovec over Suha saddle and along the ridge to the summit. Continuation to Jekljevo saddle, from there past Ovčarska koča to the forest road and back along it to Križovec. Nice. Autumn is arriving in the land, some snapshots and route track on the link http://stezeinsledi.blogspot.com/2014/09/na-golico-1835-m.html
