Yesterday we headed to Jezerske konce.
Parked by the hunting hut and set off at a fast pace (due to biting cold) towards Davova grofija. Not too much snow, track is made. On Jenkova planina the sun shines on us, then the last slope biting the knees. Path trodden, not quite on the marked, snow mushy, no crampons needed. At the top wonderful views on a sunny windless day. At the top 1 hour enjoyment and photos, downhill gaiters up and more through forest than path. Super day

Yesterday to Goli vrh from start at tourist farm Ancel (road closed ahead). Snow already well transformed, path fairly trodden. Only some spots lower down quite icy. Top about 50 cm snow.

We met a female hiker a bit below the summit, chatted with her. Before that, company of 3 fun couples with dog "grizli". We assume you're the first one. nasmeh

Well, nothing about Goli vrh for a long time. But that doesn't mean it wasn't visited. Yesterday, 9.3., 9 of us on summit. Conditions varied by altitude, towards top recommended crampons, as you call them.
Windy on top, quite some snow towards top, fallen trees on path still limit normal walking, views for the soul.

Anyone have fresh info on path to Goli vrh (from Ravenska Kočna)? Are small crampons enough? Any avalanche danger on this path? Thanks, best regards

Info from today: after last snowfall no tracks yet. Snow at start very little, 1-2 cm, at Jenkova planina already about 10, towards top up to 30. Snow was powdery in morning in places, but sun quickly softened it everywhere. No gear needed. On way back lower part already some bare (and thus muddy) sections. When we were "martinčkala" on the planina on return, two more came up and continued to top, so now track "packed" by four pairs of feet… nasmeh

Today foggy on Goli vrh. Snow started somewhere at saddle (minimal, 1 cm), on top about 15 cm. No special gear needed, but if someone has gaiters ok too. Path clear due to predecessors, and otherwise marked.

After sleeping in Jezersko at a friendly farm, with better half on Thursday we went to the summit. The path is normally passable, from the top really nice views on giants of KSA.

Koroška and Kranjska Rinka and Skuta with glacier

I haven't been to Virnikov Grintovec for a very long time

after sleeping and homemade breakfast we finally set off

I've already been to Babe, but to Goli vrh for the first time

left of the cross Setiče and Košuta, right Pristovški Storžič and Obir

First time on Goli vrh above Jezersko. Path from Ravenska Kočna well marked, Slovenian side to the top, under 800m elevation, good two hours. Views from top magnificent, towards Mrzla gora, Baba, Skuta, Grintovec, Kočna, towards Češka koča. Further towards Storžič, Stegovnik, Košuta, Virnikov Grintovec and Pristovški Storžič. Peca, Raduha and Olševa nicely visible. On Austrian side see Setiče and Obir. Descent Austrian side to Jenkova planina. Summit worth visit all seasons, summer not too hot as path through forest, autumn larch time also great, winter tour possible. Saw two chamois and squirrel. Some visitors but not overcrowded, pleasant. Finish with coffee and ice cream at Planšarsko jezero. Jezersko beautiful, in flowers, inviting for ovčji bal 11.8.

Some yesterday's snapshots from the hike to Goli vrh. Weather wonderful, plenty of hikers, wonderful views. Path without special features. Nice mountaineer greeting.

From the parking in Ravenska Kočna to the summit. Path today a bit powdery with dry snow over an icy base (small crampons recommended). Exceptional viewpoint!

Also we with the older son today from Ravenska Kočna via the Austrian side to the top. Descent on our side. nasmeh

Austrian still has snow, no problems uphill. Ours is icy below the summit, but with the help of trees and bushes, a little detour, and it works.

On descent the path is harder to follow due to logging.

Afternoon around 16:00 to Goli vrh, initially no snow in the forest, then more but nowhere more than 30 cm. Track made from previous days. Warm on top for short sleeves, nothing cold and no wind. Snow southern, road to parking still snowy but doable.
