With this tick picking I started this Sunday at Jezersko Saddle nasmeh

. At the former inn I head towards the game trail on the Austrian side, which I follow for just over 100 meters, then stick to the border stones. The path is sometimes more, sometimes less visible, mainly runs through forest, outside it crosses high grasses. As Primož also notes in his description of this path (in Velika Baba and Goli vrh forum), there are quite a few game trails here that help with progress on this path.

When the first serious slope starts, on the ridge of Zeleni vrh (Malinšek), I don't go up it, but take the game trail running on its right (western) side. Just before its end I find a path leading further south. The trail's traceability, which gradually ascends traversely, is quite solid; it gets lost only when crossing grassy parts, but those are fairly short. A bit below the saddle between Zeleni and Goli vrh I lose the path due to numerous (old) fallen trees, but at the saddle the trail is visible again. Later, when crossing trees, I notice saw marks, minimal but just enough to ease passage.

Somewhere about halfway from the saddle to the summit I head to the path under the ridge on the Austrian side, where I soon encounter a totally inhospitable reception from a female (probably) rock ptarmigan, likely got too close to nest or chicks. I detour in a wide arc and return to the trail when no longer hearing its calls and flapping. I reach the marked path to Goli vrh from the eastern, Austrian side and soon at the well-visited summit.

Back I went along the Austrian path to the junction with the road from Belska Kočna to Jenkova planina and continued on it. Since no road in the branched system above Belska Kočna reaches Jezersko Saddle, I chose the turnoff to the road under Zeleni vrh and from a suitable spot – along logging machine tracks – back to the path by border stones.

Despite mostly walking in the shade, yesterday's path was quite hot...
