@Miri ... not quite the same . There are rainbow circles in the sky and light probably really refracts on ice crystals. Here though I'm always in line with the Glory on the ground and there always has to be mist. Then I turn upwards too and sometimes rainbow pics work .

What's this phenomenon called? Clouds in rainbow colors. Actually, it's probably fog.

Glory can appear above you. Mine was in the morning at sunrise on top of Mangart. There the sun rises below you and projects the image on the fog above you. It's really to die for, wonderful.
