Me again. Today it was the turn of Dleskovec plateau and of course Dleskovec. Start of the hike about a km before Planina Ravne (snow on the road) and then almost directly uphill to the plateau, snow all the way, mostly at least 1 m deep, but due to colder weather it didn't sink too much, though my tracks are the first (obviously no one has walked here for some time). From the plateau on in almost full winter gear (crampons in the backpack), mainly because of the extremely strong wind which hit its record right on the top of Dleskovec. I really had to struggle to stay on my feet, incredible. Views nevertheless very solid and interesting especially due to the cloudiness. Down via circular path over slightly lower peaks back to the plateau and then full throttle to the car. A few minutes later rain, the car proved itself again. Total hike just under 4 hours. Recommended.

In a windy morning we drive with a colleague towards Planina Ravne. (road is OK)
Snow starts at "parking lot" (cca. 2cm). We choose northern approach and search for gully by which we will ascend.
There is still quite a lot of snow and inflated slabs. When we exit partially icy and slabby gully hurricane wind awaits us. Fog envelops us and we see the summit only for a moment. We push through bushes and in fog decide for return by approach path while tracks still visible.
Descent by gully was quite demanding and at larger spots ascent tracks already blurred.
What can we do, nature does its thing...

Yesterday to Dleskovec from Planina Ravne. Road to Planina normally drivable. From Planina Ravne continued to Sedlec on marked path (warning: marks in very poor condition) then to summit. Snow starts at cca. 1600 m, still plenty. Most of the path postholing to knees, in windblown spots to waist, walking very strenuous. Summit greeted with snow and wind, quick turn back to valley.

Yesterday I managed to visit Dleskovec, unfortunately no views, raining all the time, fog did its part. "Miraculously" I met no one, not even animals.  . But a very nice loop tour is possible, so I walked and circled it. Recommend.

Srečo, Košuta cannot be seen from here at all. Check picture 22 and you'll see that Kalška gora continues towards Kalški greben.

lijaneja, SrecoM, thanks to both for participating. Next time I'll observe even more carefully if visibility allows. I also checked my other photos and indeed picture 24 shows a close-up detail from picture 22, as you say, lijaneja, which speaks for Kalška gora.

You definitely took nice shots. Too bad we didn't go to Veliki vrh 2110 (less than half an hour), from there the view has almost no limits. On Planjava (pic. 26) the peaks on the horizon follow: End of Zeleniške špice Najvišji rob 2127, eastern peak of Planjava 2392, almost equally high peaks of Vilic 2344, 2335, unnamed lower peak, the last grassy one before Škarje is Lučka Brana or Baba 2244.

linaleja, you're great, you solved those unknowns for me too, you really made me happy, because with age I'm more and more interested in what's where, sometimes we just walked and reached the top. Veliki vrh is really wonderful, but this year after a long forced break this was already a victory for me. best regards

zlatica, I totally agree with you on this. Sometimes only the summit mattered, not even the path, views just that something was visible. Exactly what, wasn't important. That's why we're more and more occupied in the mountains, because the whole surroundings interest us more and more And then at home we research if something wasn't clear by chance.

Well, we finally lured you to the "golden" Planina Ravne; too bad a week late. But the wind still laid a "golden carpet" on the nice path for you.
On pic. 27 is Lučki Dedec (2023 m), but the picture is atypical for it.
And come to our plateau again sometime,
it's most beautiful when May begins.

Yes, kati, it's nice up there, I say it's never too late, even a week later, and thanks for Lučki Dedec, which this time is really from a completely different angle, so I wasn't sure. And I'm waiting for May, as you say it's very nice then..

Zlatica, visit in May depends on winter, how much snow it dumps on us. I'd say it's still nicest in July, as everywhere in the high mountains.

When we arrived at Pl. Ravne on the second holiday day, there was no living soul anywhere. Everywhere peace, silence, only birdsong could be heard, which rejoiced with us for the new spring day. Here spring had actually just awakened, the horsetails still had a completely pinkish tint, some adders-tongues were just opening.
The feeling was as if we were the first visitors here this year. But later we found tracks in the snow, probably from the previous day, so it wasn't quite like that.
On the idyllic Planina Dolga Trata we thus stepped on the first snow, and it was our faithful companion on the further path. The tracks showed us the direction of the hike, as both of us were here for the first time.
At the top we decided to do a circular path, as the tracks nicely led us towards Sedlec on Zeleni Trati. We almost squealed with delight as we slid down the snow on our shoes. But soon from Sedlec down we took the traverse path, where great caution was needed, as the slope was not negligible. The tracks led us on the right path (thanks to that hiker), as the markers in the upper part were under snow.
Just before the planina again spring and admiration of its beauties. Actually I don't know if it was nicer for us on the snow or here.
Wonderful trip, definitely worth repeating!

Nice, ločanka! Dleskovec is nice for me in summer, winter panoramas I'd rather see yours! The path there is strewn with roses, nice views around and from the top view reaches other beauties of KSA. So it's in my top plan again this year, realization of course depends on many things. You also caught the ptarmigan well. lp
