On Čreta, at Završnik, now also newly erected panoramic board by the forestry institute, and renovated large bench and table for resting!

Sometimes you have to wait long for a wish to come true, sometimes it doesn't happen, that's life.
Orlova peč on Čreta was on the wish list for a very long time and today it worked out! I've stood by it many times quietly wishing to climb it once. Obviously now was the time! Over the weekend I contacted Matic and he was immediately up for it! We wanted the same!
Matic is an excellent climber, much better than me, climbs hard routes and is perfect for such a feat! I was convinced it would succeed, if not me, at least him!
We met in the afternoon and drove by car to Kraplet, parked there and started crossing on the hunting path under Zakrajski peči. Good half hour and we were under Orlova peč, distinct loner on the north side of Čreta. For ascent we chose the south side of the rock, as it's lowest there and looks easiest. First a 5m overhanging jump to overcome, good 5a, then to the top unstable grade 1, altogether circa 20m ascent. At 4 meters old piton hammered and half meter above another, we used both, further trees and one sling Matic placed higher in the crack. Just in case we had pitons but didn't use them. Matic did the first jump easily, nicely climbed and soon on top, I struggled more but after several tries and stubbornness succeeded too! Yay! Didn't have climbing shoes and sole lacked grip! Amateur anyway! 
Both very satisfied, we shook hands on top and sat a while, grateful. Day slowly fading. For descent used abseil.
Packed gear and headed higher under Zakrajski peči, left to the gully and to the summit. From rock edge along ridge to Sv. Katarina and in last rays back to car.

First free day this month I use to go a bit to Čreta. We dropped kids at Završnik since two classmates of our youngest, we two went around Čreta a bit. Went to hut, ate excellent beans there, meanwhile picked some mushrooms and back past Kraplet. Nice to get away from all mud and dust in valley. Tomorrow higher somewhere!

Not bad, which is nice. For that tuft of grass chatting with the stump I let myself be persuaded easily for a hike. If you add the climbing you two did with Matic a year ago, then even more easily.

Today again more fitness-oriented to Čreta from Mostni graben past Farbance, to the cross above Ropasi. Last time they were dragging from the forest up top, but now the upper part of the trail to the cross is pretty destroyed, and especially when wet it's hard to pass, lots of mud! Hard to walk, no sense running, biking would be suffering ...anyway, if anyone reads who wants to go up here. The other side towards the old climbing crag is fine.

Almost autumn morning drove us to go to Čreta. Fresh air does good! A bit on the hunting trail under Zakrajski peči, up the slope to the sharp tooth towering over the gully, and around under the summit, where we picked some chanterelles for eggs. No other mushrooms here on the north side.
Peace, so fleeting like life itself, unique, unrepeatable!

Yesterday morning on Čreta it was really nice.
Dressed in a gentle touch of winter on the summit ridges, and wrapped in fog in the valleys, it evoked really pleasant feelings from me. Kitschily I blushed when I caught myself how genuinely it lets me experience it again and again.

This week I went to Čreta twice via Mostni vrh (hill) 675m, which rises steeply above Mostni graben. Both times start the same, from parking across the little bridge and left up the slope.
First along the wide and pleasant ridge, old tracks, then first time left across the eastern slope, second time straight from start to top.
The east side is a world of broken rocks, galleries, and fallen trees that let you through with difficulty. The passages are anything but aesthetically beautiful, atmosphere quite chaotic, natural.
On the other side the direct ascent is nicer, still very steep, with short elements of "forest" alpinism , but less than on the east side.
In summary, Mostni vrh is a characterful little guy whose spirit is big.
