My long-time wish for Cjajnik fulfilled yesterday...interesting scrambling on well protected path, where it's good to have a bit more arm strength. Joy at the top and then adrenaline descent, ridge traverse to Košutnikov turn and descent via ferrata over little bridge nasmeh

Here the view to the summit opens, there's still quite some work to it

a bit overhanging, arm strength is welcome

end of the via ferrata descent and start of the normal path

valley and panoramic ridge towards Košutnikov Turn

What are snow conditions on OTK Steig now to Kosutnikov turn? Can go without winter gear?

Hi,

I'm interested in the path to Cjajnik (from Koča pod Košuto) and current conditions, I've never been there and I'm thinking of going up this week as the weather will be great.

Is the path well marked?
How about descent and what do you recommend - return via the same climbing path or descent to Cjajnik saddle? Are those descent paths all marked? It also says the path from Cjajnik saddle via eastern gully is closed.

Thanks for the answer.
Wondering if you can descend directly from Cjajnik back to the hut?
Or does the return path continue along the ridge to Košutnikov Turn?

So what's more recommended, direct descent back or continuing to Košutnikov Turn - probably that's a loop then?

As I'm thinking of going only to Cjajnik but returning different path (without going to Turn), if possible nice descent over ridge then back to hut.
