Thanks geppo! I see that the secured path from Okrešelj is dry, shouldn't have issues with scree either. Planning the ascent on Tuesday. LP

This pic is praiseworthy from two perspectives: 1. it very nicely shows conditions on Brana and 2. very good photo Where was this actually taken from? LP

The photo is from the Okrešelj side (assuming from Frischauf). The ascent to the climbing route is slightly hindered by snow......

Thanks! joc001 When I was on the hard-to-reach summit (Savinjek), I had fantastic views. The weather was also (as you can judge from the photo) exceptionally nice. So the first ten minutes I just photographed, photographed, photographed and simultaneously enjoyed the peace and wonderful surroundings that enveloped me. No one anywhere, alone on a small rocky tip.. Usually in such cases I also take some close-up photos, because often someone needs help. This photo serves me as "background" for a few days.

Panda, you're right. This part of the snowfield lingers quite a while and can be more dangerous on descent from the wall. I know a case where a buddy lent his ice axe here, but then slipped on this snowfield and ended up pretty battered much lower down. Regards

Yeah, I tried this snow "tongue" last year, which reached well into July......even had to cross it below before entering the overgrown scree section. Problem up top if the edge crevasse is flat so you can't bypass it (too deep) then you jump. Usually better to go a bit higher on snow and climb a little to join the climbing route later. But not for everyone, last year three in front of me turned back. About four years ago I went up this snow tongue to Kotličevi and shortened the route from Kamniško sedlo to Turska gora. But I have one question geppo: Is Turski žleb kopen in the exit? Thanks for the reply.

Today hopped to the saddle; didn't photograph Boštjance because snow is at least half as much as on the upper pic -> ascent/descent on tourist path no prob.

I'm wondering which path this is; is it marked.

Maybe someone knows the snow conditions on the Kamniško sedlo-Brana path? Best regards.

Today I headed from Rinka to Kamniško sedlo. My original goal was Brana but I didn't reach it due to hurricane wind gusts. I turned back past Okrešelj to the valley. But I had time and strength so I went to Veliki Rogatec too. From Veliki Rogatec I watched KSA, which were above 2000m in fog all the time. So I had no regrets about not reaching Brana. Next time! LP

Is the wind really blowing that hard up there?

Best regards When I watched KSA yesterday from afar, it was noticeable that there was some cloud cap over all KSA embracing the peaks, like on Mont Blanc; they say if a cap forms on top, run down fast because it brings fierce wind, cold. And the rest all day. Of course just my observation. Best regards

At 9 am the temperature at the Saddle was 3 degrees, the wind was blowing with gusts up to 90km/h and when I look at your pictures Klemn, it's completely clear to me why Brana didn't let me come to her.

Is there still any snow on Brana?

There's practically no more snow on Brana, we were up there today from Jermanca. To Kamniško sedlo took us an hour and thirty minutes and further to Brana another 45 min, we went a bit faster because of the forecast of possible rain, which didn't happen but there was quite some fog and almost no views.

Lucky, thanks for the information. Maybe you know if there's a stamp at the top of Brana? Somewhere I read that it's damaged.... The little dog I'll probably really leave at home, although with a heavy heart... she really enjoys when we go to the mountains. lp
