The wild boar is a forest animal that grows to 180 cm in length and weighs up to 200 kg. Characteristic for the wild boar is that it is an omnivorous animal as it feeds on insects, earthworms, hares, fruits, roots and tubers. Wild boars live in herds, only the adult male is solitary. The female, pregnant for 4 months, farrows up to 10 young, which she suckles for just under 3 months.
