Sveta Katarina na Homu

Description of church:
Saint Katarina is a lookout point above the village Zasip (near Bled) with a church from the early 17th century, a large parking lot and a restaurant.
It is situated on the southern, sloping slope of the 834 m high Hom hill and is one of the most characteristic features of the area.
From Svete Katarina, where you can also find a few benches, you can enjoy a beautiful view stretching from the nearby Karawanks with the Chair and Begunjščica, and the Kamnik Alps in the north-east, through the vast Ljubljana basin in the centre, all the way to Jelovica, Pokljuka and nearby Bled with the old castle, and the Julian Mountains in the south-west. The poet France Prešeren called this place "the altar of Gorenjska", because from here you can really enjoy the magnificent view that opens up before your eyes.
