Hochfeilerhütte

Description of mountain hut:
The Hochfeilerhütte hut (Rifugio Gran Pilastro in Italian) is located at 2710 metres on the south side of the Hochfeiler peak, the highest peak in the Zillertal Alps. The hut has 30 beds and 60 extra beds. In winter, when the hut is closed, there are 6 beds. The hut is usually open from the end of June to the beginning of October. On the southern slopes of the Hochfeiler peak, the hut was first built in 1880 at an altitude of 3400 metres. The hut on its present location was built in 1986.
