Grosses Reisseck

Description of peak:
Grosses Reisseck is the highest peak in the mountain massif of the same name in the eastern High Tauern. It is the closest peak to us that exceeds the height of Triglav. Thanks to its height, it offers magnificent views stretching from the Grossglockner, the Hochalmspitze, the Dachstein, to the Triglav. The summit is a prominent peak in a mountain massif where many peaks are higher than 2500 m, so views of the summit from the valley are obscured. Despite its relatively high altitude, the normal ascent of this mountain does not present any major problems, as the mountain railway takes us high below the summit of Reissecko, and there are no major steep slopes, precipices or steel cables.
