Access to the starting point:
a) From the motorway Ljubljana - Jesenica take the exit Lesce and follow the road towards Bled, Bohinjska Bistrica, Ribčev Laz and the Vogel ski resort. The route starts at the large parking lot at the bottom station of the lift to Vogel.
b) From Primorska, first drive to Bohinjska Bistrica, then follow the signs for Bohinjsko jezero and Vogel. The route starts at the parking lot at the bottom station of the funicular to Vogel.
Path description:
Below the lower cable car station at Vogel, a forest road (ski slope in winter) is seen, which starts to climb moderately westwards. The path continues for some time climbing gently to moderately, then leads us out of the forest to a scenic slope from where we have a beautiful view of Komarčo, Pršivec and Lake Bohinj.
After this, the road starts to turn more and more to the left and becomes steeper and steeper. Higher up, we continue along a relatively steep ski slope, which is continuously guided by a poorer and rubbly transport-rescue road. After a while, the road or ski slope is transiently laid, and then it climbs steeply again and leads us to a marked crossroads, where we continue to the left in the direction of the Ski Hotel on the Vogel (straight to the bottom station of the double-seater Last Vogel).
Just a little further on, we arrive at the next crossroads, where we continue to the right towards mountain pasture Posledni Vogel (slightly to the left Ski Hotel na Voglu and Merjasec Alpine Chalet). Walk along the ski slope for about 10 minutes and the path will lead you to mountain pasture Posledni Vogel, where the cheese cottage is located.
Past the cheese cottage, the marked trail continues towards Vogel, Šia and Komna, and we continue straight ahead, ascending the ski slope, which starts to climb towards the south-east. Higher up, where the ski slope splits, cross one of the marked paths leading to Vogel and continue in roughly the same direction (Ski Hotel Vogel on the left).
We continue up the ski slope, and we walk along the ski slope all the way to the top station of the single chair lift Šija.
From the top station we continue slightly right and in a few steps we climb to the unmarked top of the High Eagle's Edge.
From here the trail descends slightly and then begins a moderate climb, leading to a marked crossroads within a few minutes. From the crossroads, continue straight in the direction of Šija (left Rodica, right Vogel) and continue the ascent along the steep path, which in 5 minutes of further walking leads to a scenic and precipitous peak.
