Smrečje - Robniške peči (via hunting cottage Stanič)

Access to the starting point:
Drive to Preddvor or to the settlement of Tupaliče, then continue driving in the direction of the settlement of Zgornje Jezersko. Just after the road sign marking the end of Spodnje Jezersko, turn left at the end of the hamlet in the direction of the GRZS training centre, the lehnjak quarry, the Krtina partisan hospital. . . Continue along the valley of the Komatevre, observing the numerous rapids and waterfalls of the Kokra River along the way. Shortly before the supplementary sign of the road sign prohibiting further driving from 20. 7. to 20. 10. , park in the roadside parking lot.

Path description:
From the parking lot, continue along the macadam road, which quickly leads to a small crossroads. Continue along the wider, slightly left-hand road, which has a barrier and continues along the Kokra River. Higher up, the road makes two serpentines and leads to a marked crossroads below the abandoned farmstead of Robnik (also Robenik on some maps).

From the crossroads, continue along the left-hand road in the direction of the Krtina Partisan Hospital and the Komatevra valley (slightly to the right, the GRZS training centre at Virnikova planina), and we soon notice a warning along the way that we have entered a brown bear habitat area. The way ahead leads us over a wooden bridge, and then a 10-minute-long path branches off to the right towards the Krtina Partisan Hospital, and we continue along the road, which gradually becomes quite scenic. There is a bit of a climb on the macadam road, and just before the Stanič hunting lodge, a slightly narrower road branches off to the right from the wider road. At first we continue without any major changes in elevation, then we descend moderately for a while, and then we mostly cross slopes and two streams. When the road ends, continue in the same direction, following cart track, which descends crosswise, and when it lays down, continue on the slightly left cart track, which leads to a small pass, where, on the left below us, look out for the turning point of the road leading over Virnikovo mountain pasture.
Here we continue right along the more recent cart track, and just after leaving the forest we see a hunting observation post to the right below us. There is an easy traverse up a fairly steep slope, which gives a fine view of the surrounding forests, and when cart track turns left, it is abandoned on the west ridge of Robniške peči. Here we have a slightly more difficult climb of a few metres at first to climb from cart track to the ridge, and then a steep ridge to reach the top of the Robniških peči in a few minutes.
