We drive from Škofja loka towards Železniki. When we come to village Praprotno, a road towards Stari Vrh branches to left at a restaurant. Branch is marked. Road brings us to a big parking lot under a ski slope. We keep driving on the road (by a brook) till a crossroads where a road towards Zapreval branches to sharp left. We direct on this road and follow it to village Zapreval and then towards Javorje. Road behind village Zapreval crosses a ski slope and soon comes to a crossroads where we park on a nearest parking lot.

We start at the parking lot on a macadam road going on Stari vrh (right road in direction of driving). We follow the road we parked by all the way to the hut and there continue towards the top. Path rises steeply here and brings us to the top of Stari vrh by the edge of ski slope.
