Planinska Ravna - Javorca (Golte) (path by cairns (Janezova pot))

Access to the starting point:
Take the roundabout in front of the administrative building and turn right for Šmihel (the road to the lower station of the Golte pendulum swings to the left). In the village of Šmihel (the church on the right), just drive on to the next crossroads and turn left for Golte (the church on the right). The road soon leads to the next crossroads, where you turn left again for Golte. Then just follow the main road. After a few km of driving, you arrive at Planinska Ravna. On the left side of the road there is a wooden fence and an iron barrier. Drive a little further to a quarry on the right and park there.

Path description:
From the parking lot, continue along the road for about 100 m and turn right sharply uphill before the second manhole by the road. Just above the first rocks, the track turns left into the woods and can be followed upwards for some distance. When we get much higher, under a rock jump, a thinner tree helps us to move forward and we climb up the branches to the ridge. There is a very nice view along the little man on the right, but be careful, the depth below us is great. From here, take a few steps across to the right. If you go down a few steps you can see our parking space. Then climb up the right side of the ridge to cairn at the top of the ridge. You can also take the left side, but it is much more difficult there. On the ridge there is again a nice view. Our goal of Javorca is already visible. Continue along the flat ridge, then go down a few steps in the forest and turn right. Then cross to the right to the next viewpoint with a small man on the path coming from Planinska Ravna towards the hut on Mozirska mountain pasture. We cross this path and continue steeply upwards through the forest to the next viewpoint with a mozzic. Careful on it. Just a few steps further on, we are offered two options: a harder right across past the cairn seen from the last viewpoint and left up, or an easier left along the right-hand edge of the meadow up and right into the woods (left along the path is less than 100 m to Mozirska hut). Both options lead to the Na skalci lookout point. From here, continue over the steps to the right. The path crosses to the right and leads us a little higher to a new lookout point with a man and a bench. Go a little further to the right and cross over to the next viewpoint with a little man on the Hunting Stove. From here, go about 20 m up the path that passes through Požganija and then turn right. The path leads us crosswise, also a step down, to the next exposed ridge with beautiful views and cairns. The most challenging part of the route, the climb to the top of the ridge, lies ahead. It's easier on the right, but a bit harder straight ahead. Then just continue along the right edge of the ridge into the forest and cross right under Javorca to Janez's bivouac. There is also a signing-in book and a buffet, which offers itself. Cheers, but only for health and nothing more. It's just a little bit of crossing to the top and then left to the top of Javorca, where there is a bench and a wonderful view. Both rock jumps are of difficulty level II and require belaying with rope for non-climbers.
There are many options for the descent. A little further on is the Severje route to Boskovec, so. . .
