Island of love - Island of love (circular path on and by the island)

Access to the starting point:
a) Leave the Pomurje motorway at exit Vučja vas, then follow the signs for Ljutomer. Towards Ljutomer, drive to the settlement Križevci, where take the exit Banovci, Veržej from the roundabout. Continue through Veržej, then cross the Mura River over a bridge. Follow the main road to the settlement Dokležovje, where you turn right at the roundabout towards Ižakovcim. When you arrive in Ižakovci follow the signs for Island of love in front of which you park in a marked parking lot.
b) Leave the Pomurje motorway at exit Lipovci, then follow the road towards Beltince. Before Beltinci, after the OMV petrol station in Lipovci, turn "right" out of the roundabout towards Ljutomer and Zagreb. Follow the main road to Dokležovje, where you turn "left" at the roundabout towards Ižakovcim. When you arrive in Ižakovce, follow the signs for Island of love before which you park in a marked parking lot.

Path description:
At the end of the parking lot, turn left and follow the dirt road, which is closed to public traffic, until you reach the interesting stone heart in front of the bridge to the Isle of Love. Continue right over the bridge and then along the left bank of the river Mura you will quickly reach the "central" part of the island, where you will find the mill on the Mura, the museum, the cafeteria and the ford.
Continue straight up the Mura, leaving the island shortly after the lovers' bench. The way ahead also leads along a wider path that continues along the river, but a few minutes further on the path turns right and away from the river Mura. There are a few small crossroads where you continue straight ahead or to the right. After the football ground of NK Ižakovci, turn right towards Island of love, and after a few steps, take the road to the left. Continue along the dirt road until you reach a place where you see a wooden bridge to the Island of Love on your right.
Here you can continue along the road and in a few minutes you will reach the parking lot where you started, or you can turn right and cross the bridge, which will take you through the woods to the above-mentioned 'central' part of the island, from where you will return to the starting point.
