Dražgoše (at church) - Forestry cottage Rovtarica

Access to the starting point:
a) Drive to Železniki, then continue to Dražgoše. In Dražgoše, just before the large NOB monument, take a sharp left in the direction of St Lucy's Church, where you will park in a large parking lot.
b) Drive to Kranj, then follow the signs for Besnica (the turn-off from the old Ljubljana - Kranj road is before the bridge over the Sava River, or after the bridge if you are coming from the direction of Kranj). Continue through Spodnja, Zgornja Besnica and Njivica. A little further on, you arrive in Nemilje, and after this settlement the road starts to climb steeply. When you reach Podblica, follow the main road, and above Podblica you reach the main road Kropa - Dražgoše, which you follow to the left (if the bend is too sharp, there is a turning point a few 10 metres to the right). Continue past the Church of St. Jederti, and then arrive at Dražgoše, where, just past the larger NOB monument, continue slightly right towards the Church of St. Lucy, where you will park in a parking lot.
c) Drive to Kropa, then continue driving towards Dražgoše and Železniki. When you arrive in Dražgoše, drive past the NOB (National Liberation) Monument and turn slightly right towards St. Lucija, where you park.

Path description:
From the church, continue along the asphalt road, which continues north-westwards, but quickly splits. Continue along the lower left road in the direction of Rovtarica and Bohinj (up the old church on the right), where you pass a few more houses. Soon a marked path branches off slightly to the left downhill towards Prtovč, and we continue along the upper road, which soon becomes macadam. We continue to climb for some time, mostly through the forest, but occasionally we get some views. At a few small crossroads we continue straight ahead, but when the wider road turns left and passes to the left bank of the Češnjica stream, we leave it and continue straight ahead on a slightly narrower road that continues along the left bank of the stream. There is a steeper climb for a few minutes and you reach the quarry, where the carriageway ends.
Continue straight ahead and walk along the initially wider cart track, which continues along the stream. At a higher level, the stream diverges slightly to the right and cart track splits. Continue straight ahead, following cart track, which continues along a small valley. After a few minutes of ascent along cart track, you reach a wider macadam road leading from Železniki towards Bohinjska Bistrica.
Follow the road to the right, and in a few steps you will reach the marked crossroads at Raztovka, where the marked path to Vodiška mountain pasture branches off sharply to the right, and we go slightly left and continue in the direction of Bohinj. There is a moderate downhill, and when the road is flat we arrive at the edge of Rovtarica, where we see the forestry huts on the right, and we reach them in a few minutes.
